Will The Testosterone Booster Supplement From Bodybuilding.com Work?

Bodybuilding.com Platinum Series Alpha Protocol Testosterone Booster Review First Look:

After a weekend of boozing and eating plus a welcome bit of chilling Monday always signals the dawn of a new week and some lifting.

A client of mine at work who is in to his lifting commented to me that he spent much of the weekend absolutely hammered to the point he was not being accepted in to any bars and then spent the weekend eating a ferocious amount of KFC.

Fortunately I didn’t go full metal jacket and have a modicum of decorum…I think, or at least for Saturday anyway.

The problem is Friday was a bit of a write of and it meant a couple of chores to be completed with a raging hangover before we headed over to the next town for a spot of dinner and wine.

Luckily(?) X-Factor was on which my girlfriend was keen to see so at least that prevented us from staying out late in some bars, my mind and soul thanked her for it on Sunday.

With more weight sessions on the horizon and experiencing some great gainz while supplementing with TestoFuel I was keen to see what the offering from Bodybuilding.com would bring to the table.

Afterall, with a brand as strong as this you would think they have everything in order to ensure the best possible product is being sold.

The packaging gives off the correct impression, it looks of a high quality and not like the shit blue bottles their lesser products come in.

So far, so good…

Magnesium – Research into magnesium supplementation also increased testosterone production in men.

Vitamin B6 – Vitamin B6 helps testosterone levels by stimulating androgen (a steroid hormone that acts as a precursor for testosterone) receptors in your body, making your testes produce testosterone.

Zinc – A Zinc deficiency is associated with abnormally low testosterone concentrations. Found in all of the best testosterone boosters.

D-Aspartate, DAA – D-aspartic acid is one of two forms of the amino acid aspartic acid. The other form is L-aspartate. The benefits of D-AA are specific to it, and do not extend to aspartic acid or L-aspartate. D-AA can be used as a testosterone booster for infertile men, and by athletes as a temporary booster.

D-AA works in the central brain region to cause a release of hormones, such as luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and growth hormone. Importantly, unlike some pro-hormones and steroids, it does not raise estrogen levels.

A dose of 2000-3000mg is required.

DAA is found in the most effective and beneficial testosterone boosters.

Fenugreek – Fenugreek is a proven ingredient as found in our benchmark testosterone boosting product; Testofuel.

Research shows that a fenugreek seed extract can reduce daily fat intake in overweight men when taken by mouth at a dose of 392 mg three times daily for 2-6 weeks.

Tongkat Ali – Eurycoma (LongJack) is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent.

However, there is a lack of evidence for testosterone boosting in humans, although some very limited evidence in animals.

Dose:

6 pills per day – this amounts to a strong 3894mg of ingredients daily which is a good amount for a testosterone booster supplement.

The only real thing to note is that we are instructed to take 3 pills twice daily, it may be more beneficial to spread the 4 pills out evenly throughout the coarse of the day to continually supply the body with a trickle of the ingredients.

Additionally, you’re body will excrete any additional nutrients it doesn’t require at the time of ingestion, therefore if you give it a large hit, some of it may be wasted.

Effects:

Zinc is a great and commonly found ingredient within many and certainly the best testosterone booster supplements for its widely acknowledged ability to maintain optimal testosterone levels.

B6 is part of the family of B vitamins which help produce energy. They can also create red blood cells which will then carry oxygen to the organs and muscles, notwithstanding able to carry away waste products too. It will also help your testes produce testosterone too.

Magnesium, not to be outshone also helps produce more testosterone.

D-AA, this is widely know to stimulate more testosterone production. This is an ingredient found in supplements such as TestoFuel.

Then there is Fenugreek, another well regarded testosterone boosting ingredient found in the best testosterone boosters.

Negatives:

The Magnesium is really low dosed, in most ZMA products which provide the back bone of many testosterone boosters and contain Zinc, Magnesium plus B6.

There is usually 450mg of Magnesium included. This offers just 34mg.

Eurycoma does not have a body of evidence that would suggest or prove that it an raise testosterone levels.

Other than that, its real only down side is the lack of other supporting testosterone boosting ingredients such as D3, Panax Ginseng and K2.

Bodybuilding.com Platinum Series Alpha Protocol Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion:

This offers some good testosterone boosting ingredients; namely the B6, Zinc and Magnesium which make up a typical ZMA product which is seen as the back bone of a testosterone booster supplement.

The only problem is that Magnesium is offered in a low dose compared to what we would normally find in a ZMA product.

It is great to see the heralded D-Aspartic Acid which is a massive boost to the product as well as Fenugreek as both work well.

It seems a silly opportunity to omit Vitamin D3 and instead have Eurycoma included which is not proven to increase testosterone levels.

Overall the whole product is further lacking research driven ingredients such as Vitamin D3, B12, K2, Oyster and evenPanax Ginseng to name a few and these are all included in the best testosterone boosters out there.

3/5
