My Dr. Boost Testosterone Booster Review First Look:

I have recently been feeling unwell.

Like clockwork, man flu has hit me. The weather turned a little bit cold and I feel dreadful.

I was quite taken by this particular testosterone booster by Dr. Boost because for a start, it comes in little shot bottles and a quick glance at the ingredients shows it contains Vitamin D and Zinc, both of which are excellent ingredients to increase testosterone levels.

Ingredients:

Maca Root – This Peruvian strain of ginseng is great for lifting libido and mood, however, when it comes to raising testosterone levels it has no effect at all.

No significant influences on testosterone in any tested demographic I’m afraid.

L-Arginine – This is found in many pre workout supplements or products designed to make you more vascular.

L-Arginine opens up the blood vessels and arteries to assist with blood flow, nothing really to do with testosterone but may assist with any impotency issues that are not helping you attain that hot chick in the gym who is 15 years your junior.

However, you will require 5g per day alone!

Tribulus – Once again, the old tribulus raises its ugly head.

The problem is that because this has been touted about for so long as a bit of a miracle plant extract used by the mysterious Eastern Bloc Olympic Athletes during the Cold War people have started to believe the hype and it is an easily recognizable ingredient the ill informed will have heard about down the gym.

The issue is that it has not been scientifically proven to raise testosterone levels in any shape or form.

In fact, in studies using elite professional Australian rugby players as participants Tribulus did not produce the large gains in strength or lean muscle mass that many manufacturers claim can be experienced.

Avoid like a medieval plague if you are looking for muscular gainz.

Turmeric – Finding itself more popular and being included in a variety of products, yet we find this most puzzling. Why?

Well regardless to the fact that it has no link to testosterone stimulation it also has very poor bio-availability rendering it useless when ingested.

Zinc – Needed for many reactions in the brain and a key component for releasing the luteinzing hormone (LH).

LH is primarily responsible for theproduction of testosterone and growth hormone. The fact that it’s in here is great.

Vitamin B6 – Vitamin B6 helps testosterone levels by stimulating androgen (a steroid hormone that acts as a precursor for testosterone) receptors in your body, making your testes produce testosterone.

Black Pepper / Piper Nigrum (BioPerine) – The extract of piperine, called BioPerine®  in the patented form, has been clinically tested in the United States.

Vitamin D – This is a great Testosterone boosting vitamin that must be taken advantage of to trigger further production of Testosterone in your body.

However, there are two types of Vitamin D. There’s calciferol (vitamin D2) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) – we are only interested in cholecalciferol which is D3; this is the type our skin synthesizes from the sun and becomes a hormone which results in the increases in our testosterone.

Research by the US Library of Medicine has shown that testosterone productions are increased with Vitamin D3 supplementation.

Primavie (Shilajit Extract) – This is a fulvic acid found in the Himalayas. Actual medical research is low, it has been banded around for years in the East though.

It seems it can help boost the immune system, fend off lethargy and also assist with altitude sickness.

It seems there is no harm in taking it and it seems to have a fair amount of benefits, and has been noted to increasing testosterone levels in infertile men but as there has only been one human study it is unsure whether it will increase testosterone levels in fertile men.

On other thing to note is that there is a warning in place for shilijat due to the amount of additives being added to supplements and in some cases metals have been found, as such sales are now banned in Canada due to concerns.

Fenugreek – Fenugreek is a proven ingredient as found in our benchmark testosterone boosting product; Testofuel.

Research shows that a fenugreek seed extract can reduce daily fat intake in overweight men when taken by mouth at a dose of 392 mg three times daily for 2-6 weeks.

Dose:

4 bottles per day.

They’re only little shot bottles of 1.9fl oz/56ml.

Even so, with 4 it only amount to a total of 998mg.

We would recommend that you have at least 4 tablets or doses spread evenly across the day, as per the best testosterone booster on the market.

This way your body has a constant trickle of the ingredients to work with in order to stimulate testosterone.

Effects & Benefits:

There are just four proven, reliable and effective testosterone stimulating ingredients present here:

  • Fenugreek
  • D3
  • B6
  • Zinc

D3 is a great testosterone boosting ingredient and many of us are deficient in D3.

It is also more effective than D2.

However, it is not just testosterone levels which benefit from D3 either; bone and teeth health plus it is needed by stem cells for muscle regeneration and recovery after a hard session and there is evidence it might protect immune functions during periods of intensive training.

D3 is more of a steroid hormone than a vitamin in the way it acts on the body.

Fenugreek is proven to increase testosterone levels as are Zinc and B6.

Shilajit can help increase testosterone levels, but you have to be infertile for it to be effective.

Arginine is also worth a strong mention because it is effective at dilating the blood vessels which enables more oxygen and nutrients to reach the organs and muscles.

Negatives:

The first, main problem is the lack of proven ingredients and that this consists of a proprietary blend.

That means we have no idea how much of each individual ingredient is included. It could just be trace amounts of each.

Shilajit is only effective at increasing testosterone levels if you are an infertile male.

So, if you fall within the 12% of men throughout the globe who are infertile (this is according to the World Health Organization) this will benefit you.

If you are not infertile, and the majority of men are not, this ingredient offers no benefit for stimulating testosterone levels.

Arginine requires 5000mg daily to be effective at dilating the blood vessels and this falls within the blend of just 920mg per day.

Then Maca, Tribulus and Turmeric is just not proven to offer any benefit.

My Dr. Boost Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion:

On the whole this is a novel way to get some limited testosterone stimulating effects.

However, the novel delivery method (of bottle shots) does not really make up for the fact that this is lacking in many areas.

There’s a few proven testosterone stimulating ingredients included but the overall doses are low.

Then a couple of hidden within the secretive and untrustworthy proprietary blend.

There’s also another ingredient included but is only beneficial if you are an infertile man which makes up for a very small percentage of the global male population.

Theis could have been replaced with other, proven and beneficial ingredients that can actually increase production of testosterone.

As a result it is not really effective at stimulating much testosterone production because it is lacking other, further proven ingredients such as:

  • Magnesium
  • K2
  • D-Aspartic Acid
  • Oyster
  • Ginseng

Due to the limitations, the proprietary blend plus the additional missing ingredients that would offer a better, well rounded product this is not quite the best on the market.
