EVLution Nutrition LeanMode Fat Burner Review
Summer is clearly in sight and the days are getting longer which can only mean one thing; everyone is thinking about that beach body. We therefore thought it was time to trial another fat burner to see if it can knock our #1 off the post.
EVLution Nutrition have a great design ethos which bridges the gap between pharmaceutical looking products and those more aimed at hardcore lifters, this looks clean, fresh and just a little bit wild and I like it. It would certainly catch my eye on the shelf. It also claims to be stimulant free which is another reason to give this a try as many are laden with caffeine which is fine but if you love a decent coffee too much caffeine can be a bit of an issue.
It is good to see a product without a proprietary blend and a fairly healthy supply of ingredients, some fall way too short of what is required to be effective, and, although this is approximately 500mg short of what Instant Knockout provides considering the fewer number of ingredients we are getting a good dose here.
Chromium – Chromium stimulates the synthesis of protein and helps keep hunger at bay. Insulin levels are also balanced by Chromium which helps keep your blood sugar levels balanced.
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – Studies have shown that this naturally occurring fatty acid helped a group of women lose 9% body fat within 12 months. However, you need a composition of at least 80%.
Green Bean Coffee Extract – For weight loss, chlorogenic acid in green coffee is thought to affect how the body handles blood sugar and metabolism.
Acetly-L-Carnitine – L-Carnitine is great for blood flow and helps the body produce energy and more energy can mean more exercise.
African Mango (Irvingia gabonensis)– There are a few research studies on the health effects of IG extracts, and most have been sponsored by supplement makers.
We are recommended to take 3 pills at once either one or two times daily. Personally I think that maybe spacing them out a little bit more throughout the day may work just as well in order to continually supply your body with the metabolism boosting ingredients.
CLA is the most featured ingredient here and rightly so with good evidence to back up the claims. It is also good to see Chronium and Green Bean offered up to the table too which will all offer a degree of effectiveness. The L-Carnitine is a slightly odd ingredient to include, however, I believe this is so they can get around the ‘no stimulant’ claim and unfortunately the addition of African Mango is a bit of a wildcard as there’s too little knowledge or evidence about it being effective.
Main issue here for me is that there are too few ingredients available, and there are two which don’t really work directly towards fat burning. Unfortunately the main ingredient of CLA is great to see but actually the composition is too low at 60% when it really needs to be 80% to work and over all it is about 500mg short of content compared to our number 1 fat burner.
EVL nutrition are a pretty well regarded company yet I feel this product does not live up to its reputation nor future potential. There are too few ingredients to be a well rounded fat burner and the content available is too low as well whilst also including a couple of left field ingredients that are going to have no real world effect. It is quite a cheap product to buy, but as the old saying goes; by cheap, buy twice.
