Legion Athletics Phoenix Fat Burner Review // Can You Feel The Heat?
Legion Athletics Phoenix Fat Burner Review First Look:
Okay, with a vacation to Spain just confirmed next month I want to ensure I am in peak condition.
I want to make sure I feel fit and look healthy.
Nothing worse than feeling a bit out of shape and out of breath as you stagger around the pool trying to suck your stomach in.
By the time you get to the bar you’re gasping for air, you inhale your beer and you end up drunk out of your mind before 3pm.
That may have been a good look when you are 18, chicks dig it…I think. However, when you are closer to 35 that 30 you actually want to enjoy the day rather than laying face down unconscious half hanging off a sun lounger letting the sun burn your body to a crisp.
So, along with a decent diet and a bit of exercise it is also good to incorporate a fat burner such as Instant Knockout in to your regime.
However, you may have noticed the supplement market is awash with fat burners.
It is the season after all, we all want a last minute quick fix to hide the sins of the previous 12 months.
Let’s see if the masculine sounding Legion Athletics Phoenix can help us at all. There’s a lot of sins that I need alleviating.
Forslean (Coleus forskohlii) – Forskolin is a chemical found in the roots of the plant Plectranthus barbatus.
This plant has been used since ancient times to treat heart disorders such as high blood pressure and chest pain (angina), as well as respiratory disorders such as asthma, it can also assist with reducing fat mass in obese people.
However, no reliable scientific information that shows Coleus forskohlii extracts taken by mouth are effective.
White Willow (Salix Alba) – Early research suggests that taking willow bark in combination with ephedra and cola nut might cause slight weight loss in overweight and obese people.
However, it is not wise to use this combination because of safety concerns about ephedra. Ephedra has been banned in the United States due to severe harmful side effects.
Tyrosine – Tyrosine is taken for depression, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the inability to stay awake (narcolepsy), and improving alertness following sleep deprivation.
It is also used for stress, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).
Acetyl Tyrosine is a more soluble form of tyrosine.
5-HTP – This chemical increases the synthesis of serotonin which helps against insomnia, binge eating and helps with your mood and well being.
Anyone who is or used to go clubbing to house music will know a thing or two about serotonin!
Hesperidin – Looks to be possibly effective for blood flow, but there’s limited research available.
Naringin – This displays strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Known as a citrus flavonoid and found in grapefruit, it is also good for reducing cholesterol, high blood pressure, overall obesity as well as improving cardiovascular health.
Green Tea – well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.
One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.
Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect. Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.
Bitter Orange (Citrus Aurantium) – At present, Citrus aurantium may be the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra. However, more studies are needed to establish this definitively.
Bitter orange is possibly unsafe when taken as a supplement for a medical purpose such as weight loss.
Bitter orange, particularly when taken with stimulants such as caffeine or caffeine-containing herbs, increases the risk for high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack, stroke, and other severe side effects.
There are reports that bitter orange can trigger headaches, including migraine and cluster headaches, in some people.
Bitter orange can cause sensitivity to the sun. Wear sunblock outside, especially if you are light-skinned.
Up to 5 pills per day.
This would equate up to 2429mg daily.
This dose is not too bad considering some of the supplements we come across and compares well with the best fat burners which tend to offer in excess of 3000mg.
Effects & Benefits:
We are limited to a mere 3 ingredients in this fat burner that will help with weight control.
These include the widely used and lauded Green Tea, you can read a bit more about it’s proven effects, here.
It also includes the not so commonly used 5-HTP and Naringin.
Both can help combat overall obesity or help suppress appetite, this is the case of 5-HTP which raises serotonin levels and if you know of any pill popping ravers who are fond of a bit of ecstasy you may notice how thin they are.
Having just 3 of the 8 ingredients that are either effective or at least safe is not a good hit rate. In fact it is just 37.5%
Then really, let’s look at Citrus Aurantium. The closest ingredient to Ephedra but may cause fatalities at worse and probably a headache at best. Neither I want to experience any time soon.
Coleus hasn’t been proven to work when taken orally and White Willow requires either Cola Nut or Ephedra to be taken in combination yet neither are offered, so a bit pointless.
And, that is the problem with the remaining ingredients, they’re a ll a bit pointless. with very little studies or proof to back their benefits.
Legion Athletics Phoenix Fat Burner Review Conclusion:
Let’s strip this back.
Only 37.5% of this will reliably help you lose weight, safely.
The remaining ingredients can cause a host of issues such as high blood pressure, fainting and sunburn. Or they need other ingredients that are not present to be effective.
This is almost a non starter.
Why bother using this when there’s countless other products available…
There are superior and safer fat burners on the market though which you should consider taking a look at..
