My MuscleTech Essential Series Platinum L-Arginine Review

My MuscleTech Essential Series Platinum L-Arginine Review First Look:

Can this LArginine product from MuscleTech’s Platinum Essential Series really be an effective pre workout supplement?

I had an early night last night.

In bed for 9pm and woke up at 8:30am.

I think it is safe to say I was feeling tired.

Today though, I have brunch then coming home to hit the weights, and it is help with the weights I want.

I want a supplement that can help me increase my performance, I would also like to increase my performance on the rugby field for the few times I may actually play this season.

I have tried and tested many pre workout supplements to see just how well they perform and have found that very few can actually step up and bring something effective to the table.

In many cases it is under dosed ingredients or just unproven ingredients that offer nothing more than anecdotal stories and tales from years ago.

I prefer to base my decisions and purchases on proven science rather than someone’s ‘feelings’.

That’s why I still believe in Father Christmas…

I have taken a look at this product because it purely just contains L-Arginine and this ingredient makes an appearance in both testosterone booster supplements I have tried to Pre workout supplements as well.

Let’s take a closer look to see if it can offer any real benefit.

Ingredients:

L-Arginine – This is found in many pre workout supplements or products designed to make you more vascular.

L-Arginine opens up the blood vessels and arteries to assist with blood flow, nothing really to do with testosterone but may assist with any impotency issues that are not helping you attain that hot chick in the gym who is 15 years your junior.

However, you will require 5g per day alone!

Dose:

Up to 2 capsules per day.

This would equate up to an insufficient 2000mg daily.

We recommend that you have at least 4 servings spread evenly across the day if taken in pill format.

This way your body has a constant trickle of the ingredients to work with in order to stimulate testosterone and to ensure that if you get a large hit of ingredients it isn’t wasted if your body doesn’t require them.

This compares terribly compared to many of the best pre workout supplements which will offer over 15,000mg.

Benefits & Effects:

L-Arginine opens the blood vessels which is good for transporting oxygen and getting rid of waste products. It can also help with any erection problems you may be suffering from.

However, 5000mg of Arginine alone is required to be effective.

So, it can be effective at increasing oxygen flow and taking away carbon dioxide but it needs to be in the correct dose.

Negatives:

There’s just too little L-Arginine offered in the daily dose to be effective and being able to offer any performance benefits.

There’s a lack of other proven ingredients too which make up the best pre workout supplements.

Plus, now this is purely personal preference, however, if I am taking a pre workout supplement I prefer to have it in a liquid format because then it help hydrate you.

While we should always be on top of our hydration levels it is easy to let them slip and having the pre workout as a liquid will help.

My MuscleTech Essential Series Platinum L-Arginine Review Conclusion:

This offers a low and insufficient daily dose and while it does contain a great proven and beneficial ingredient, it has not been dosed high enough to offer any real benefit as well as it omitting many proven ingredients that are present in many of the best pre workout supplements.

So the ingredient included is techinically able to increase blood flow or but is not provided in enough quantity to actually benefit our workout or performance.

Therefore, as it is missing the following ingredients and not being dosed adequately I would not suggest that this L-Arginine supplement from MuscleTech is worth bothering with.

If you are looking to increase performance, ensure your pre workout contains the below:

  • Coconut water
  • Potassium
  • Theanine
  • Rhodiola
  • Carnitine
  • Beet
  • Citrulline

There is a better product than this that will get you fired up and cause hell in your chosen sport.
