My Havasu Nutrition Extra Strength Horny Goat Weed Testosterone Booster Review

My Havasu Nutrition Extra Strength Horny Goat Weed Testosterone Booster Review

My Havasu Nutrition Extra Strength Horny Goat Weed Testosterone Booster Review First Look:

I was out last night on our anniversary date.

We do this every week without fail but it does mean no weights on a Wednesday night.

It also means lots of food and booze, I have a real penchant for Bailey’s too.

This also means I am usually a bit hungover on a Thursday and this can effect my training which I am keen not to see suffer.

Not just to ensure I am in good shape as well as maintaining and developing my strength but to also keep my testosterone levels elevated.

Being positively 33 and very nearly 34 I am a prime target for hypogonadism.

What a reduction in testosterone means is:

  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Loss of strength
  • Increased risk of osteoporosis
  • A change in mood and outlook on life
  • Irratibility
  • Increase of fat mass
  • Cardiovascular health risks
  • Reduced energy levels
  • Loss of libido

There are some way to combat this, and resistance training or weightlifting is helpful, particularly if compound exercises are employed, hence my love for them and eagerness not to let my training schedule slip.

You can also incorporate a testosterone booster supplement in to your lifestyle as I did when I started to notice the beginnings of a change when I hit 32 years of age.

Seeing as I am passionate about weight lifting and trying to increase my strength it is of a double concern that my testosterone levels are maintained at a high level.

As such, I normally use TestoFuel because it contains nine proven ingredients that are able to stimulate more testosterone production.

However, this time, I wanted to see what else is available to maximize my results and workload, I noticed this is a big seller on Amazon, so I wanted to see what is behind the hype.

Ingredients: The Science

Muira Puama – Again there’s no real scholarly studies or evidence available from reliable sources that would suggest that this stimulates testosterone production.

This may help with improving sexual function when combined with Ginkgo but other than that there’s not much to go on.

Tribulus – Once marveled, now known to have no effect on testosterone levels, by now supplement manufacturers should really let go.

Avoid like a medieval plague if you are looking for muscular gainz.

It also failed to provide any benefit hen tested on a bunch of professional Australian rugby players.

Velvet Bean (Macuna Pruriens) – This is actually good for treating people with Parkinsons.

There’s a mixed bag of results for testosterone but look mainly positive.

Results have shown an increase in testosterone levels in infertile men, however, results are very limited for fertile men.

It is effective to reduce cortisol levels – high stress levels can harm testosterone production.

L-Arginine – This is found in many pre workout supplements or products designed to make you more vascular.

L-Arginine opens up the blood vessels and arteries to assist with blood flow, nothing really to do with testosterone but may assist with any impotency issues that are not helping you attain that hot chick in the gym who is 15 years your junior.

Panex Ginseng – This form of Ginseng is the most highly researched. There’s lots of evidence which suggest cognitive function, mood and immunity is increased.

There is evidence for better erections and an increase in testosterone production for infertile men.

Maca Root – This Peruvian strain of ginseng is great for lifting libido and mood, however, when it comes to raising testosterone levels it has no effect at all.

No significant influences on testosterone in any tested demographic I’m afraid.

Horny Goat Weed – Epimedium, the suspected active component of horny goat weed, appears to act as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, similar to some drugs used for erectile dysfunction.

It does not, however, stimulate testosterone production.

Longjack (Eurycoma Longifolia, TongKat Ali) – Is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent.

Although there’s some research to suggest it may increase testosterone levels in animals and humans it is pretty lackluster which doesn’t bode too well.

Saw Palmetto – this fatty acid was long touted to help boost testosterone levels, but those claims turned out to be false.

It is effective in suppressing prostate growth though. So could help if you are taking steroids or Prohormones.

Dose:

The daily dose is 2 tablets per day which is not the best dosing strategy.

It is recommended that we have at least 4 tablets spread evenly across the day, as per the best testosterone booster on the market.

This way your body has a constant trickle of the ingredients to work with in order to stimulate testosterone and to ensure that if you get a large hit of ingredients it isn’t wasted if your body doesn’t require them.

A daily serving is about half of what we are accustomed to with just 1520mg per day.

This is much worse (about 50% less) than what is included in the better products such as Prime Male.

Pros:

In this supplement there are a collection of just three ingredients that are considered beneficial.

Ginseng and Macuna Pruiens are often found in the best testosterone boosters.

L-Arginine has the potential to offer blood flow benefits but you would need 5000mg per day, considering this whole product combined can barely muster over 1500mg on a daily basis that Arginine is not going to offer any benefit at all in the real world, not at just 200mg per day!

Cons:

Having just three beneficial ingredients in a supplement that is also aimed at increasing testosterone production is not too positive.

This results in just a third of the product consisting of proven ingredients to benefit the user.

That is not particularly impressive, not when you consider the premium and effective testosterone boosters such as TestoFuel contain 9 proven ingredients, a larger daily dose and has enough pills to provide a constant trickle of ingredients.

And it contains fewer ingredients than a similar product we reviewed in the past.

This makes products like TestoFuel more convenient and overall, better value.

Not only that, we can lose the effectiveness of Arginine due to it only being available in 200mg which will not have an effect.

Realistically , this contains many ingredients that are found in other testosterone boosters that are not particularly effective for the user, and this, sadly is no different.

There are much better testosterone booster supplements available.

My Havasu Nutrition Extra Strength Horny Goat Weed Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion:

As already mentioned I regularly use TestoFuel which includes 9 effective and proven testosterone boosting ingredients….it is not on it’s own though, you can check out other competent testosterone boosters, here.

However, what is astonishing is how popular this product is when less than a third of it will help raise testosterone levels. With the remaining ingredients featuring in many testosterone booster supplements that are not effective.

That is a very poor performance and one I am not satisfied with, not when you consider there are much more potent alternatives available that contain a wealth of proven ingredients.

For me, TestoFuel has provided some great, noticeable results. Mainly my strength and muscular definition has increased not to mention my overall mood.

Take a look at what works to maximize your workouts.
