Vitamin B12 Helps Cognitive Function In Tests // A Vital Vitamin
Latest research of cognitive function in children over a span of 5 years and using 320 participants has shown that those with low levels of vitamin B12 perfromed poorly in cognitive tests.
The children who were showing low levels of B12 were lacking in ability to interpret other children’s emotions and complex geometric figures.
The results suggest that a lack of B12 can delay and impair brain development in young children.
This correlates with previous research that also highlights the importance of B12 for brain development.
Vitamin B12 is found in high quantities in the following foods:
These findings hammer home the message that to improve a child’s development, B12 must be provided in their diet from food products or supplemented.
