Sheer Strength Labs SHEER BLOCK Carbohydrate Blocker Fat Burner Review First Look:

Since seeing some real progress on my abs coming through, and a leaner face, with my body looking better off overall I can only put this down to better eating, less stress, more cycling and more rest.

I also regularly take Instant Knockout which still maintains its position as being the best fat burner I have used, and no doubt this addition to my recent lifestyle changes has help wondrously.

However, I do like to eat out, I do like to drink alcohol and I do like to enjoy myself.

The problem is, enjoying yourself as an adult is usually pretty sinful to say the least.

Unless you are a teetotaler of course, however, being a rugby player is the antithesis of a teetotaler if I am honest.

The booze runs freely, the menace is constant and consistent as are the hangovers, the dread and the guilt.

So, it is always to be very aware of any supplements that can ensure you look less like a fat bastard and more lean, this can just take the edge off of maintaining a decent, healthy and usable weight ideal for rugby.

That’s why, I try and test everything and anything I can get my grubby hands on.

It looks professional and it looks honest with a hint of reliability thrown in to the mix.



Green Tea – well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.

One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.

Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect. Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

Phaseolus Vulgaris (White Kidney Bean) – Analysis revealed a statistically non-significant difference in weight loss between P. vulgaris and placebo groups. It doesn’t work.



Just 2 pills per day. That is low.

We prefer around 4 pills spread out across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process. This is also quite manageable.

These two pills per day only offer 1090mg. That is about a third of what we would like.

This dose doesn’t compare well with the best fat burners which tend to offer in excess of 3000mg.

Effects & Benefits:

Just the Green Tea is commonly found in the top 3 fat burners we have trialed and reviewed.

This is because Green Tea is proven to help with weight loss, this is great. It can also help with cognitive function too.

However, not all of this supplement is great…


Only the Green Tea is effective at losing weight.

White Kidney Bean is not proven to do anything in term so weight loss. Therefore it may as well not be included.

That means this only offers one beneficial ingredient and is lacking masses of other, proven and effective ingredients that can assist with raising the metabolism, burning more calories and then losing weight.

This is lacking way too much to be entirely effective at burning fat, blocking carbs and losing weight.

Green Tea is a great addition, but is the only worthwhile addition.

White Kidney Beans are proven not to do anything according to the studies.

  • Green Tea
  • Green Coffee
  • B6
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Chromium
