Purus Labs D-POL Free Test & Nitric Oxide Elevator Pre Workout Review
Purus Labs D-POL Free Test & Nitric Oxide Elevator Pre Workout Review First Look:
After a long weekend of parties and wedding celebrations not too mention hours behind the wheel driving in the summer heat with no air con you may not be surprised to hear that I nearly had a mental breakdown when I awoke to a power cut at my house.
Not that any of this is really relevant but I wanted to paint a picture all the same.
Plus, I was tired this evening and I still am so wanted to just hit a couple of lifts before bed, my initial thoughts were to do shrugs and squats, but my legs are aching from cycling today with a bastard of a headwind.
I then decided that it will be shrugs and….bench, naturally. I even increased the weight to 418lbs. Do remember that I am using an iso lateral lever press by Powertec and not a barbell.
Either way, just prior to the lifting I ripped the sachet open and mixed the contents with water which produced a pleasant aroma and an even more agreeable sour lemon flavor.
Ingredients:
Niacin (B3) – Higher amounts of niacin can improve cholesterol levels and lower cardiovascular risks. However, the jury is out on these real benefits.

D-Aspartate, DAA – D-aspartic acid is one of two forms of the amino acid aspartic acid. The other form is L-aspartate. The benefits of D-AA are specific to it, and do not extend to aspartic acid or L-aspartate. D-AA can be used as a testosterone booster for infertile men, and by athletes as a temporary booster.
D-AA works in the central brain region to cause a release of hormones, such as luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and growth hormone. Importantly, unlike some pro-hormones and steroids, it does not raise estrogen levels.
A dose of 2000-3000mg is required.

Vitamin B6 – Vitamin B6 helps testosterone levels by stimulating androgen (a steroid hormone that acts as a precursor for testosterone) receptors in your body, making your testes produce testosterone.

Vitamin D – A great Testosterone boosting vitamin that must be taken advantage of to trigger further production of Testosterone in your body.
However, there are two types of Vitamin D. There’s calciferol (vita
min D2) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) – we are only interested in cholecalciferol which is D3; this is the type our skin synthesizes from the sun and becomes a hormone which results in the increases in our testosterone.
Research by the US Library of Medicine has shown that testosterone productions are increased with Vitamin D3 supplementation.

Vitamin B12 – Studies show that people who are anaemic tend not to have high levels of testosterone because they cannot absorb vitamin B12.

Sodium Nitrate – Studies show that Sodium Nitrate does not improve athletic performance.

Dose:
One sachet of this custard creme pre workout consists of just 4400mg which is very low compared to other supplements.
The taste was most splendid and was nice tart and sour as a pre workout should be.

Effects & Benefits:
All of the ingredients apart from Niacin and Sodium Nitrate increase testosterone levels when taken over time and are often found in testosterone booster supplements and definitely in the best ones on the market.

How did it feel?
I didn’t feel anything as this does not include many of the ingredients so commonly found in pre workout supplements.
Over time, taking this on a regular basis would increase testosterone levels, but for me, I just had to make do with drinking a pleasant flavored mixture.
Negatives:
On the whole, as a pre workout supplement this is too under dosed and contains far too few ingredients on the whole and far too few ingredients that are effective at being able to increase performance, energy, blood flow and aggression.
This is not so much a pre workout that just 50% of a good testosterone booster supplement.
It needs ingredients such as Caffeine, Creatine, Beet, Sodium, Citrulline…this list goes on yet this doesn’t contain any of them.
Purus Labs D-POL Free Test & Nitric Oxide Elevator Pre Workout Review Conclusion:
So what is this?
Well, it is not an effective pre workout supplement that is for sure. The only 1 ingredient that potentially had any benefit for performance has been proven in tests not to be effective.
The remainder are useful, but more as a long term solution to increase testosterone levels, which will increase performance.
However, it is not going to be useful to flood your full of aggression, energy and power as you hit the gym or the field.
Even as a testosterone booster it is missing vital ingredients such as Zinc, Magnesium and Fenugreek as found in Testo Fuel.
