What are the claims for 2 SHREDDED?
Beast Sports Nutrition have gone to town with this product.
Their claims are long and varied.
- Supports thermogenesis
- Stimulates thyroid function
- Suppresses hunger and appetite cravings
- Helps with passing urine
2 SHREDDED Ingredients: The Science
– Thiamine (Vitamin B1)
Thiamine is required by our bodies to properly use carbohydrates which are then available as a quick source of energy.
There’s evidence from studies that have shown that combining B1 with B5 doesn’t actually increase or improve physical performance as previously suggested. [1]
– Caffeine
This can assist with endurance, tested athletes saw an edge from caffeine in scientific studies.
In some trials, the stimulant boosted athletes’ speed.
In others, it helped them last longer before they spent all their energy.
Caffeine also raises the metabolism which means you burn more calories.
Some studies show that it can curb soreness after exercise, too.
This means you could get back to your training sooner and training means more calories burnt. [2]
Caffeine is present in all 3 of our Top Fat Burners.
– Vitamin B12
B12 is a vital ingredient that has show to have many benefits. These include improved cognitive function.
B12 fights fatigue, muscle wastage, it boosts mood, improves cognition. This also improves metabolism and food digestion.
Studies have shown that those lacking in B12 scored lower in cognitive testing.
With further analysis demonstrating positive effects against cellulite.
B12 Gives you more energy and boost your metabolism, helping you shed unwanted pounds.
Ensure you are not deficient in Vitamin B12 so you can do that quick 10 miler at 5am…
– Iodine
Iodine is an essential component of the thyroid hormone which regulates many important biochemical reactions, including protein synthesis and enzymatic activity.
These are critical determinants of metabolic activity. [3]
– Chromium
Research suggests that chromium might improve weight loss in some people who are overweight or obese.
It also helps move glucose from the bloodstream and in to the cells for energy. [4] [5]
– Cocoa
Theobromine is available from cocoa. It has many benefits.
Theobromine can help with respiratory tract issues and it helps reduce inflammation.
Cocoa also contains caffeine. Caffeine is a thermogenic so it raises the body temperature which burns calories. [6]
– Choline BiTartrate
Choline is mostly used for either its cognitive boosting properties or as a liver health agent, able to reduce fatty liver buildup.
It may also be a stimulant although this is based on anecdote. Requires around 250-500mg per day for cognitive benefits.
Choline does not offer any significant benefits for aerobic capacity, fatigue or training capacity. [7]
– Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
Full of vitamins but not a great deal of human research to suggest that it can suppress appetite or lower blood sugar levels.
It may be the rabbits favorite meal but unless you fancy eating like a rabbit in the first place this isn’t going to do much for your fat loss. [8]
– Evodia
Seems to be used to treat multiple afflictions such as Nausea, Diarrhea, stomach ulcers and even obesity, it may even decrease inflammation, blood pressure and stimulate the heart.
That’s a lot of claims, however, there’s actually very little evidence to prove that this is the case in humans. [9]
– Orange Peel
This is often referred to as Citrus Aurantium and Bitter Orange.
At present, Citrus aurantium may be the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra. However, more studies are needed to establish this definitively.
Research suggests that orange peel can be unsafe when taken as it may increase the likelihood of heart problems.
Bitter orange, particularly when taken with stimulants such as caffeine or caffeine-containing herbs, increases the risk for high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack, stroke, and other severe side effects.
There are reports that bitter orange can trigger headaches, including migraine and cluster headaches, in some people.
Bitter orange can cause sensitivity to the sun. Wear sunblock outside, especially if you are light-skinned. [10] [11]
– Naringin
This displays strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities.
Known as a citrus flavonoid and found in grapefruit.
It is also good for reducing cholesterol, high blood pressure, overall obesity as well as improving cardiovascular health. [12]
– Ginkgo
Ginkgo appears to help some people with cognitive function and memory speed. But this is not across the board.
Overall results are mixed. [13]
– 1, 3, 7, 9 Tetramethylpurine (Theacrine / Tetramethyluric acid)
An alkaloid molecule which can be seen as a structurally modified version of caffeine.
However, although it is similar to caffeine whereby it has a sedative effect at relatively low doses, but where this sedative effect with caffeine is at an impractically low dose with theacrine it is the dose normally consumed by tea.
Research on Theacrine is really too sparse though to cast any real assertions. [14]
Beast 2 SHREDDED Directions
Take two capsule twice per day.
It is also better to spread the pills out over the course of the day rather than take them in one sitting.
That way you maintain a high level of the thermogenic ingredients working to increase your metabolism.
If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.
Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Zinc yet your body is still processing and utilizing Zinc from a meal you’ve recently had or a drink it will not process any extra that is not required.
What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass.
Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.
Beast 2 SHREDDED Serving
Four capsules per day amount to just over a total of 1130mg.
This is about 50% of what you would find in the best fat burner supplements.

Pros
There are eight ingredients that we can benefit from.
These are mainly all related to weight loss, based upon the studies.
So let’s hit the fat burner supplements first:
- Thiamine
- Caffeine
- B12
- Chromium
- Cocoa
- Naringin
Thyroid function is supported by Iodine. Iodine helps with metabolic function.
There’s a couple of ingredients related to cognitive function but only one is conclusive.
Cons
There’s still lots of uncertainty.
There’s ingredients here that lack conclusive scientific evidence.
One of the two ingredients included to help improve cognitive function has no conclusive evidence that it works and the other requires a specific dose.
Unfortunately part of the ingredients fall within a secretive proprietary blend so we do not know how much is included.
Then there’s Theacrine. Theacrine includes caffeine but the doses are just impracticably low.
Dandelion has no evidence to suggest it can aid weight loss.
And there’s a lot of risk concerning Bitter Orange.

What Improvements Could Be Made?
The proprietary blend hides much of what we need to know.
It is hard to trust a product which hides the amounts of each included ingredient behind a veil.
Then the doses of some ingredients are low, with other ingredients not offering any conclusive scientific evidence for their effectiveness.
Plus, it could have offered much better fat burning performance if it had included the following:
- Glucomannan
- D3
- B6
- Cayenne
- Zinc
- Green Coffee
- Vit. C
- Fenugreek
- Green Tea
Without any of these, this will not have the maximum effect on fat loss.
Any unwanted 2 SHREDDED side effects?
There’s a big risk with at least one ingredient.
Bitter Orange has a few unwanted side effects that can be life threatening including cardiovascular failure, headaches and even sun burn.
If you supplement with over 1,100mcg of Iodine daily it can be dangerous for adults.
People may suffer from Dandelion allergies when it is taken orally.
Do not take Evodia if you are breast feeding or pregnant.
Studies have shown that Evodia has caused the uterus to contract and reduce the size of the litter in animals.
My Beast Sports Nutrition 2 SHREDDED Fat Burner Review Conclusion
Is there too much risk and no reward with 2 SHREDDED?
It is true, there’s a lot of health risks related to 2 SHREDDED.
However, there are eight beneficial ingredients also included.
Yet, if you are a woman looking for a fat burner supplement it is best of you avoid this, especially if you are pregnant, looking to start a family or are breastfeeding.
Overall the dose is low and there are lots of ingredients missing which are safe and proven to help increase calorie expenditure.
Final Thoughts?
This does not offer the safe and effective ingredient profile that the best fat burner offers.
