My HumanN SuperBeets Pre Workout Review

My HumanN SuperBeets Pre Workout Review

My HumanN SuperBeets Pre Workout Review First Look:

I am feeling hungover today.

We had our work Christmas party last night and although I had a nice solid 7 hours sleep I could really do with a bit more right now.

Everything I seem to eat or drink doesn’t seem to help the situation.

The mere thought of a workout is not exactly appealing either so I have decided against it tonight and instead headed over to the grocery store to pick up a couple of steaks and a bottle of Chianti.

However, this is beside the point, because what I have before me is a pre workout supplement that is based upon beets.

Beets really seem to have exploded (not literally) in popularity over the past few years.

This may have been due to it widespread use in the London 2012 Olympic Games by the athletes.

Since science is so advanced these days, it would seem nonsensical if it was purely drunk on the basis of it providing benefit based upon folklore, legend and anecdote.

Ingredients: The Science

>RELATED: We’ve tried and tested the best pre-workout supplement HERE!

Beta Vulgaris (Beet) –  Beet can also increase nitric oxide in the body. This chemical can dialate blood vessels and was popular with athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

This is also found in 4 Gauge which is rated as the best pre workout, however, it is not commonly found in many others.

Salt (sodium) – An essential mineral; its consumption is critical to our health. However, Americans plus a lot of Western countries do consume double the recommended daily intake.

Excess sodium may not raise blood pressure, but it is associated with other health issues, such as kidney damage and an increased risk of cognitive decline.

Potassium – An electrolyte that helps your nerves function and muscles contract.

Magnesium – Research into magnesium supplementation also increased testosterone production in men.

Vitamin C – Widely hailed for its benefits. It can help protect the testes from stress and therefore preserve testosterone levels.

Being an anti-oxidant helps with blood flow too.

Protein – This is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood. Along with fat and carbohydrates, protein is a “macronutrient,” meaning that the body needs relatively large amounts of it.

We have protein sourced from milk whey in this product, you  can read more about the properties of milk protein:

Dose:

5000mg of ingredients to be mixed with water.

This does not compare very well to many of the best pre workout supplements which will offer over 15,000mg.

Pros:

This offers just six ingredients, that is much less than many pre workout supplements I test.

Thankfully, all of these ingredients are proven to be useful and beneficial to our body when we workout.

Nitirc Oxide in particular helps open up the blood vessels so more oxygen and nutrients can be delivered to the organs and muscles.

Protein is great to help repair muscles for recovery and growth after exercise.

Some of these ingredients feature in some of the best pre workout supplements available on the market or even the best testosterone boosters.

That’s because they have proven abilities to benefit your performance or improve your hormone levels.

How Did It Feel?

I would normally write a nice little paragraph here, but, I didn’t really feel any benefits.

Cons:

It’s disappointing to see so few ingredients included.

Not only that, it is disappointing to see such low amounts of each ingredient included.

It can also be argued that most Western diets are full of salt so unless you are excessively perspiring you will probably be consuming too much salt anyway and too much salt is dangerous for your health.

Then, the other issue is that we do not know how much of the beet is included.

We are told there are three beets worth of nitric oxide, but we could do with having that quantified.

While it is great to see protein, just one gram is a bit on the low side.

My HumanN SuperBeets Pre Workout Review Conclusion:

There’s a few issues that I have with this product.

Firstly it is the lack of information about how much beet is included per servings.

Secondly, there’s a real lack of other, proven and beneficial ingredients too which is a shame because what is included is actually effective.

That means, this supplement is handicapped by what it omits.

Because of that, there are far superior products available due to this omitting a large few proven ingredients that are present in many of the best pre workout supplements.

This was absolutely clear when I tested it for my gym session I felt no effects at all. Absolutely nothing.

Due to the limited effects, the fact that it is missing the following ingredients and not being dosed adequately I would not suggest that you bother with this pre workout when there’s alternatives available:

  • Coconut water
  • Theanine
  • Rhodiola
  • Carnitine
  • Creatine
  • B12
  • B6
  • Zinc
  • Caffeine

There is a better product than this that will get you fired up and cause hell in your chosen sport.
