REDCON1 Double Tap Powder Fat Burner Review

REDCON1 Double Tap Powder Fat Burner Review

REDCON1 Double Tap Powder Fat Burner Review First Look:

I’m cycling home tonight from work after my rather boozy dinner Tuesday night which left me reeling all day in self pity and with a spaced out brain.

I literally could not focus on anything all day. Plus the booze made me feel bloated.

It is not often I do a mid week session but this sorted happened organically and out of nowhere, as such I went well overboard and forgot about the possible consequences.

Since cycling to work, rain or shine (rained heavily this morning and looks sunny now), if I miss a day or two it starts to annoy me.

Luckily tonight I will race home and then hit the weights, and, even after just a couple of months I have noticed more definition on my stomach which is pleasing, thus, I just want to do more and push myself further to lose more body fat.

However, on top of my new cardio regime, an effective fat burner could help me reach my fat loss goals a little bit quicker and help maintain the weight loss too.

The fat burner does have to be effective though, and this, looking a little alpha may well be up to the job.

Yet, the last fat burner trialed from REDCON1 was a bit of a disappointment to say the least, hopefully this will make up for the SILENCER’S misgivings.

Ingredients

Choline BiTartrate – Choline is mostly used for either its cognitive boosting properties or as a liver health agent, able to reduce fatty liver buildup.

It may also be a stimulant although this is based on anecdote. Requires around 250-500mg per day for cognitive benefits.

Choline does not offer any significant benefits for aerobic capacity, fatigue or training capacity.

Green Tea – well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.

One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.

Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect. Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) – Full of vitamins but not a great deal of human research to suggest that it can suppress appetite or lower blood sugar levels.

Dicaffeine Malate – Caffeine and Malic Acid bonded. Malic acid is found in apples and the two combined help prevent the crash once the caffeine has worn off.

This is found in Mr. Hyde Cutz but very little in terms of scientific studies to be found.

L-Carnitine – Acetyl-L-carnitine helps the body produce energy. It is important for heart and brain function, muscle movement, and many other body processes.

Men who were supplemented 2g per day showed an increase of Insulin like growth hormone when combined with exercise.

Caffeine – It stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure to give you an extra boost and hit that PB.

Caffeine Anhydrous is the purest form of caffeine so always look out for it.

This is found in 4 Gauge which is the best pre-workout.

It is also found in Instant Knockout which is the best fat burner available at present.

Octopamine – Banned by the WADA. The claims of fat burning may not actually be true and are untested in humans. Risky.

2-AMINOISOHEPTANE DMHA Octodrine – This seems to be the industry’s reaction to the widespread banning of DMAA. However, due to its fairly recent emergence on the supplement scene there is very little in terms of human studies or effects.

It is a stimulant which was briefly studies in the 1950’s but seemed them seemed to disappear.

However, in 2015 it re-emerged as a possible therapy for Candida albicans which is a fungal inflection.

Dose:

The advice is to take 1 scoop of powder which will amount to 2880mg daily.

This amount and similar to what other proven and effective fat burners offer.

However, sometimes pills are more convenient and they can be spread out more evenly throughout the day to ensure your body receives a consistent trickle of nutrients.

Effects & Benefits:

When dosed correctly, Carnitine can increase growth hormone which is great for muscular and strength development.

Choline can offer cognitive benefits when dosed adequately which it is here.

Both Green Tea and Caffeine offer well renowned and proven fat burning effects, these two ingredients are found in Instant Knockout which is the best fat burner on the market at present.

The daily dose is good and there’s not proprietary blend in sight.

Negatives:

Of the 8 ingredients only 2 helps toward fat loss. That’s not a good hit rate.

L-Carnitine can help with growth hormone and muscular function but we require 2000mg per day, not the 1000mg offered here.

Octopamine is a banned substance under WADA listings. So this will not be particularly helpful if you are involved in competitive sports.

Then there’s very little human and proven studies to demonstrate the benefits of DMHA, DiCaffeine Malate and Dandelion.

While Choline BiTartrate may offer cognitive benefits it doesn’t offer any performance benefits.

This supplement is also missing many, proven ingredients often found in the best fat burners such as:

  • B6
  • B12
  • Zinc
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Green Coffee

These ingredients would have helped massively because they are all proven to actually stimulate fat burn by raising the metabolism which increases calorie burn.

I am also not too keen on powdered supplements like these. This is only because I feel pills are more convenient and can be taken throughout the day.

REDCON1 Double Tap Powder Fat Burner Review Conclusion:

Unfortunately this follows the route of SILENCER from REDCON1 which also offers an insubstantial amount of actual fat burning ingredients to make it worthwhile or effective.

Having just 2 good, effective ingredients is not satisfactory and will not offer much benefit, especially annoying when it costs $64.99

All good, and high scoring fat burners offer around 8 or more proven and tested ingredients that can increase metabolism and increase energy levels.

Plus those ingredients are adequately dosed so their inclusion is not in vain, unlike this.

As a result, this doesn’t sit highly on our podium of the best fat burners which you can read about here.
