My Animal Stak Review
Animal Stak Testosterone Booster Review – But Will It Work?
Universal Nutrition have been around since 1977, some may call this the ‘Golden Age’ of bodybuilding fueled by the release of ‘Pumping Iron’. In those days protein shakes were practically limited to milk and eggs, however, in the present day Universal Nutrition boast a wide line up of supplements only bettered by their extensive heritage.
The Animal Stak was one of my first supplement purchases when I first started hitting the gym with my buddies a good while ago and this product has been on the market for 9 years already; therefore I thought it correct to provide my humble opinion.

First look:
Now, if you look at the website for Universal Nutrition there are two pages to choose from; one which is all about Universal Nutrition which is quite retro and cool, reflecting its heritage in the aforementioned ‘Golden Era’ and the second which fits every supplement cliché around.
This particular product of their range falls in to the latter; of course it does, with a name like Animal Stack I feel like I am going to turn in to a werewolf by merely looking at the tin. And the Animal Stak is a tin!
Not a common bottle but a tin full of little bags with your daily allowance of pills the size of Jupiter – it all looks rather hardcore and daunting which is perfect when you are aged 23 and wanting to get some spastic gains.
Ingredients:
Animal Stak has long been built on being a complete anabolic hormone stack. It’s not just a testosterone booster. It’s also a GH booster and an anti-aromatase. Stak also contains specialized hormone amplifiers and restorative nutrients to optimize ones internal anabolic environment. It is extreme and all-encompassing. The ingredients are listed freely on their website and are as follows:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin B6
- Magnesium
- Zinc
- Chromium
- Longjack Extract
- Avena Sativa
- Tribulus Extract
- Mucuna Pruriens
- Alpha Glycerophosphocholine
- Arginine Ketoisocaproate
- Calcium D-Glucarate
- Diinodolylmethane
- B-Sitosterol
- Saw Palmetto
- Pygeum Africanum
- Acetyle-L-Carnitine
- Phosphatidyl Serine
- Lysophasphatidylcholine
- Milk Thistle
This is a vast array of ingredients, many of which we have never seen before in any other testosterone boosters.
We know that Vitamin B6, Magnesium and Zinc work, however, there is the inclusion of Tribulus that has never had any scientific evidence recorded to prove its effectiveness; its marketing policy appears to be based on hearsay only.
Mucuna Pruriens has raised its head in Prime Male so that’s a positive.
Universal Nutrition has been around for a good while and this particular product has also so there must be something in here that works, so let’s a have a closer look at some of the ingredients and see what we can find…
Longjack Extract – Eurycoma (Tongkat Ali, LongJack) is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent.
However, there is a lack of evidence for testosterone boosting.

Alpha Glycerophosphocholine – Alpha-glycerophosphocholine (Alpha-GPC or α-GPC) is a cholinergic compound that is used for its cognitive-promoting properties, and to enhance power output in athletes.
It appears to also support cellular membranes, and may aid in preventing cognitive decline.
Therefore studies look positive, however, there does need to be further studies to see any consistent correlation.

Calcium D-Glucarate – Calcium-D-Glucarate is a β-glucuronidase inhibitor that promotes the excretion of any molecule in a specific detoxification pathway.
It has shown efficacy at very high (impractical) oral doses in reducing cancer induced by these compounds, but may also reduce all steroid hormones as well.
This is a (good) problem; it helps reduce cancer but also testosterone too!

Acetyl-L-carnitine – Acetyl-L-carnitine helps the body produce energy. It is important for heart and brain function, muscle movement, and many other body processes.
It is a very popular supplement and widely proven to be active drugs for the therapy of symptoms associated with male aging.

Arginine alpha-ketoisocaproic acid (AKIC) – When tested on male participants this did not have any effect on athletic performance.

Find out which ingredients work and which don’t
– Testosterone boosting ingredients –
Dosage:
One packet of pills per day (the pills are huge) and each tin supplies you with a 3 week supply.
It is recommended that you have a packet of pills for every day over 3 weeks then to have a week off before doing another 3 week cycle.
Effects:
The original, prohormone-free Animal Stak was launched over nine years ago, and though the formula was cutting-edge at the time, non-hormonal, anabolic supplements utilizing natural hormone boosters were still in their infancy.
This new and improved version has taken the most potent components of its predecessor, combined it with newer nutrients and cranked it up to the next level.
Animal Stak has long been built on being a complete anabolic hormone stack.
It’s not just a testosterone booster.
It’s also a GH booster and an anti-aromatase. Stak also contains specialized hormone amplifiers and restorative nutrients to optimize ones internal anabolic environment.
Negatives:
My main beef with this product is that it seems to encompass more marketing jargon than anything else which I always see as a distraction to the main ingredients.
There’s a hell of a lot of ingredients and a huge amount of weird and wonderful tablets to take in each daily packet, yet there’s only 1500mg of testosterone boosting ingredients when something like TestoFuel is packing twice as much as that.
Many of the ingredients do not appear in any other likewise supplements and much of the research is focussed on rodents which is always a concern to me.
My Review Conclusion of Animal Stak:
The product has been around a long time and I first used it about 8 years ago now and I was in my infancy of weightlifting so I was seeing a good continued phase of growth in size and strength which I could also put down to this product.
The ingredients are a mix match of some that have good supporting evidence and others that quiet simply don’t and then again other ingredients that even reduce testosterone in the male body.
There are too many tablets and ingredients yet it is not concentrated enough for me, I just don’t see the point of it all, I don’t see those extra ingredients and tablets of being that much use when other products offer more with less.
However, it is easy to write something off when in fact there are ingredients in there that do work and I imagine because of that and the reasonable price (and probably because of the marketing) that this is a best seller.
