LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight II Testosterone Booster Review
LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight
Norateen Heavyweight 2 is promoted by LA Muscle as a luxury product and your partner to a high-end successful lifestyle.
Can this testosterone booster deliver on its promises?

LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight II First Look
We’re looking for the best testosterone booster. Is Norateen up to the job?
LA Muscle is a pretty big supplement company and a well-regarded player, so when they bring out a product we are expecting a great experience and something that is proven to work.
Supplements tend not to be cheap so we would rather not waste our money trying lots of different ones until we find something that fits the bill.
Therefore we would assume that LA Muscle have done all of the leg work so you don’t have to.
Especially with this high profile marketing machine behind the brand.
My buddies have long talked about LA muscle in the gym.
This is advertised as their powerful muscle builder but I am have my reservations when compared to test boosters such as Military Muscle which keeps me ticking over nicely.
Let’s take a good look then.
Who are LA Muscle?
The self claimed ‘world’s leading premium sports nutrition specialist’ are a one-stop-shop for all of your needs.
They really are playing in to this whole get ripped, get social media followers and get rich thought process that seems to be very popular these days.
There’s lots of images of fast, exotic cars, paparazzi style shoots and claims that their products will help you to be admired.
They even now have a LA Muscle TV where they discuss luxury, lifestyle and cars. This does seem to be about as far removed from hardcore bodybuilding and more aligned with reality TV celebrities.
However, who am I to judge? That seems to be the hit these days, every guy and girl you see patrolling around Ibiza has a six pack, but whether that is to do with LA Muscle or just large quantities of coke and MDMA is another thing.
Norateen Heavyweight II Claims
These claims are pretty heavy, to be honest.
Supposedly it has been voted the “strongest ever muscle builder” by Men’s Health. I’m not sure how much MH were paid to say that, but it must be a fair wedge.
LA Muscle say that Norateen Heavyweight II can change your life. It can do this without you having to work hard in the gym. Norateen is claimed to change your body in days.
This is ridiculous and quite frankly insane. Honestly, if anyone anywhere offers you a product that can change your life and body in days with no need to work hard in the gym, do not believe them.
Even anabolic steroids do not have that much of an effect in days. This is not an anabolic steroid, it isn’t even close.
Furthermore, LA Muscle claim that the BBC’s rugby sports panel wanted it banned because it was too strong.
Again, this is not true.
It was reported that a rugby player for Plymouth Albion failed a drugs test for 19-norandrostenedione. This is a banned substance.
The rugby player claimed he was buying Heavyweight Norateen II but the supplement he received was just Norateen.
All the BBC’s rugby panel states is that more needs to be done to understand and educate rugby players and the teams what exactly players are buying and using. [1]
These comments were published in 2002 and there was no mention of banning Norateen II.
The other possibility is that LA Muscle purposefully contaminate the supplement with banned substances and do not disclose it to give the results people are expecting.
All of these wild claims are quite extraordinary and quite frankly, I do not trust LA Muscle nor this supplement.
Norateen Ingredients: Evaluation
6 ingredients make up this confident looking product. And, I am determined to find out the true about what this product contains
– D-Aspartic Acid (DAA)
This amino acid helps with the synthesis of proteins and is able to increase testosterone production in men.
When dosed sufficiently (2000-3000mg) it has demonstrated that it is able to synthesize testosterone in the testes. [2]
– Velvet Bean (Mucuna Pruriens)
Mucuna pruriens is a high protein bean that has been used before the notion of Christ ever lived or existed.
However, apart from helping with muscle repair and growth it can also have a positive effect on Parkinson’s sufferer’s.
However, there’s more…
After merely 3 months of administration a study found that testosterone levels in men were increased. It is considered that the high content of L-DOPA in mucuna pruriens is able to reduce prolactin levels which will suppress testosterone production.
Mucuna is also able to reduce stress and improve semen quality. [3]
– DIM (Diindolylmethane)
If you regularly eat vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower you will unwittingly be consuming lots of DIM.
DIM is a compound found in these types of vegetables that can suppress estrogen levels as well as preventing the conversion of testosterone to estrogen.
You have to be careful on the amounts of DIM taken at once because too much can actually have the opposite effect. 100mg seems to be optimal. [4]
– Vitamin E
It has been concluded that testosterone levels can be increased with vitamin E supplementation because it protects the testes from cell damage.
Studies have shown that oxidative stress and damage to the cells has a significant impact on hormone production. [5]
– Beta Ecdysterone
Beta Ecdysterone is a class of ecdysteroids that increase growth in plants and insects. ecdysterone is one of the four ecdysteroids but it is turkesterone which seems to be the most anabolic.
Studies show that they do not increase testosterone levels. However, they can increase protein synthesis so do have a positive effect on muscle development. It’s just not the potent anabolic effects we were all hoping for. [6]
– Methoxyisoflavone
Methoxyisoflavone sounds and looks like the name of an anabolic steroid, and this along with a few other compounds such as ecdysteroids are marketed as such. Promises of increased muscle strength and mass are rife.
However, studies to confirm their effectiveness have drawn a blank. They have no positive effect on hormone levels, strength or body composition. [7]
Norateen Dose
6 pills per day.
This equates to just 2160mg which is staggering when you thing about it, why are 6 pills required for a such a small amount of ingredients?
The dosing advice even stated to take 2 tablets three times a day, so, it isn’t even as if the tablets are offering 6 chances for your body to make most of the ingredients and maintain a high level of testosterone.
Pros
4 of the 6 ingredients will help towards elevating testosterone levels, or at least protect your levels from diminishing.
However, they are really small doses. Especially DAA which requires 2000mg daily to be effective at increasing testosterone levels.
I find this quite unbelievable that such an established brand would use such few proven ingredients at such low doses.
Cons
Low daily dose.
So we have 2 ingredients that are specifically aimed at athletes to increase endurance, strength and elevate testosterone levels but both fail at fulfilling these spurious claims.
Overall, the daily dose is really too low to have a great deal of effect on testosterone levels and while we have 4 solid ingredients that is much less than what other supplements contain.
Especially when this has been branded as the most powerful muscle building supplement. This is not true.
It needs the inclusion of ingredients such as Magnesium, Zinc and Vitamin D3 to name a couple which can be found in the best natural T boosters.
Is Norateen a Steroid?
No, this is definitely not a steroid.
There’s two ingredients that are related to insect androgens. However, there’s no evidence that this will improve or increase our own androgen production.
In fact there’s very little here to help increase natural testosterone levels.
Norateen Side Effects
There’s little to go wrong here. Especially with such a low daily dose.
There are Ecdysteroids present which are insect androgen hormones but this does not translate to human androgen increases.
Thus, some people are worried if Norateen and hair loss are related.
This is not the case, if you are susceptible to male pattern baldness you will go bald, regardless of what you take.
However, anabolic steroids can accelerate the process.
This is not an anabolic steroid though.
LA Muscle Norateen Heavyweight II Review Conclusion
PROS – There’s no real risks involved taking this
CONS – The total doses for the ingredients are very low, it really has no positive effect and does not warrant the high price tag
At least there is no proprietary blend or tribulus, however, with such a low daily dose and it missing some great, hard hitting and proven ingredients it is lagging behind the best testosterone boosters on the market.
It is also unbelievable that this includes Methoxyisoflavone and Beta Ecdysterone, both have studies online that are widely available to prove that they do not increase testosterone nor increase muscle mass.
However, LA Muscle includes them are markets them as great muscle builders, it stinks and so does this product really when it is broken down.
There’s too many lies and areas of false or misleading advertising surrounding this product.
As a result, this is not a product I will be replacing Military Muscle with.
