USN Core Series 17-Testo Max Testosterone Booster Review
First Look:
USN are massive in the supplement game so their products should be amazing as they have a reputation to uphold. However, we have seen that some of the biggest names offer nothing more than a brand name and poor quality while there are smaller, newer companies offering something much more effective.
Take a look at our Top 3 boosters for something effective.
Ingredients:
Zinc Oxide – This mineral is great for boosting testosterone, it is necessary for reactions in your brain and promotes the production of both testosterone and growth hormone. The amount here is about half of that found in a good ZMA product.
What is strange here is that they use Zinc Oxide, I have looked at some research on rats which would suggest that supplementation of Zinc Oxide can cause immune toxicity.

Fenugreek – Fenugreek is a proven ingredient as found in our #3 Testosterone Booster, Testo+ and our benchmark product; Testofuel.

Tongkat Ali (AKA Longjack or Eurycoma Longifolia) – is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent. Although there’s some research to suggest it may increase testosterone levels in animals and humans it is pretty lackluster which doesn’t bode too well.

Vitamin D3 – Research by the US Library of Medicine has shown that testosterone productions are increased with Vitamin D3 supplementation.

Ashwaganda – Studies have shown that treatment with Ashwagandha root extract resulted in a higher level of testosterone and a concomitant increase in serum levels of LH among infertile men having sub-optimal testosterone levels. It’s difficult to see if the same result would be found with guys who do not have any fertility issues. So the question is, are you infertile? If you’ve been banging your missus (or even your mistress, we shouldn’t be even talking if you have smashed your sister) unprotected and have miraculously not had a sprog you probably are infertile…sorry to break that to you, bro.

Boron – Boron is great for the older lifter or those doing high weight low rep work as it helps to reduce inflammation, something that is found in PrimeMale, which I am a fan of.
Primavie (Shilajit Extract) – This is a fulvic acid found in the Himalayas. Actual medical research is low, it has been banded around for years in the East though. It seems it can help boost the immune system, fend off lethargy and also assist with altitude sickness. It seems there is no harm in taking it and it seems to have a fair amount of benefits, and has been noted to increasing testosterone levels in infertile men but as there has only been one human study it is unsure whether it will increase testosterone levels in fertile men.
On other thing to note is that there is a warning in place for shilijat due to the amount of additives being added to supplements and in some cases metals have been found, as such sales are now banned in Canada due to concerns.

– Our best & worst testosterone booster ingredients –
Dose:
The recommended daily allowance is 2 pills. We prefer 4 pills spread across the day to evenly spread the nutrients out and prevent massive peaks and troughs. 4 pills are the doses of our benchmark products. A daily serving is 1244.224mg.
Effects & Benefits:
The zinc is a solid ingredient to have present, the ashwagandha and shilajit seem only to work if the user is infertile and the latter has only 1 study in the matter so hardly conclusive proof. The boron is a nice touch as it helps with inflammation of the joints, I am a big fan of Prime Male because it contains boron which is a relief when lifting heavy.
However, the standout ingredients are Fenugreek and vitamin D3. These are both proven ingredients known to stimulate testosterone.
Zinc would also be a good addition if it wasn’t Zinc Oxide which seems to be a bit troublesome.
Negatives:
It being a proprietary blend isn’t ideal. Neither is the low daily dose nor only having 2 pills per day.
In fact all of the good work is over shadowed by the overall sense of under dosing. The D3, Boron and Fenugreek (although part of a proprietary blend) is under dosed compared to its contemporaries in the market place.
It is worth reiterating that in our top 3 rated testosterone boosters they have around 8 solid ingredients which all have proof backing their usefulness and it is the same with fat burner’s too.
I am also not to keen on any product containing Shilijat due to the safety concerns highlighted by the Canadian Government.
Conclusion:
On the face of it, this seems to offer some goodness, but scrape away the surface and we are left longing for more. The couple of key ingredients are good to see but they’re not going to be effective in the doses provided and the rest isn’t worth dwelling on. By no means this is not the worst but it has a long way to go before it is a good, product that I could recommend.
I am very disappointed over the lack of real testosterone boosting ingredients here, as we know, higher levels of testosterone provide a plethora of health benefits and not just bigger muscles. They have really missed a trick.
