REVIEWED: Performix Time-Release Sport CLA Fat Burner // Is This Better?
Performix Time-Release Sport CLA Fat Burner First Look
We see so many products that are released on the coattails of one particular study which highlights the benefits in that trial.
This is the case with CLA products, the mad rush begins once someone finds or a favorable study is published.
However, what really sets them apart?
In most cases, nothing.
It’s the same product offered by different brands t different price points but nothing to distinguish them apart.
By quickly looking at this fat burner from Performix, I think they want to try something different and offer a more complete supplement.
The box looks good, it mixes technicality and science with good, fresh design.
From this perspective alone it inspires confidence and would have me reaching for it off the shelf.
Ingredients: The Science
CLA fat burning products have got my attention because the initial research looked promising and they seemed like a strong proposition.
Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA) – Initial reports and studies have showed that CLA helped a bunch of women who did no exercise lose 9% body fat.
However, further studies are showing very mixed, if not medicore results that aren’t really setting the world alight, in fact the side effects are having their presence felt moreso outweighing any real benefits.
Any benefits that were found meant that the composition had to be greater than 80%.

Chromium – Chromium supplements are promoted as being helpful in building muscle and burning fat and in helping the body use carbohydrates. This has not been proven and features in our list of ingredients to avoid.

L-Carnitine-L-Tartrate – Men who were supplemented 2g per day showed an increase of Insulin like growth hormone when combined with exercise.

Coleus forskohlii – Forskolin is a chemical found in the roots of the plant Plectranthus barbatus.
This plant has been used since ancient times to treat heart disorders such as high blood pressure and chest pain (angina), as well as respiratory disorders such as asthma, it can also assist with reducing fat mass in obese people.
However, no reliable scientific information that shows Coleus forskohlii extracts taken by mouth are effective.

Dose
The dosing procedue is take 3 soft gels daily. This provides a maximum of 2300.4mg per day.
This is a bit more than many CLA products we see but also a lot less than many too..
We would recommend a dose of the pills/soft gels to be taken evenly throughout the day to minimize large peaks and troughs of the nutrients to be utilized by your body as with the best products.
Pros
CLA’s; if you are not sure provide pretty inconclusive results when it comes to fat loss.
One study posted great results when tested on a group of women.
Yet, further studies have not yielded such a great outcome…
So what makes this any different?
Well at best this also offers Carnitine L-Tartrate which can increase growth hormone.
However, that was with a dose of 2000mg and this is a proprietary blend so we have no idea how much of each ingredient is included.
L-Carnitine is also useful to create energy for your body to use for physical activity.
Cons
This is a proprietary blend which poses problems.
Apart from Chromium, we have no idea tot he exact content of each individual ingredient and this matters.
For ingredients to be effective we need certain levels.
For all we know this could be trace amounts of each plus a nondescript bulking agent.
This would offer no benefit.
Plus Coleus is hardly conclusive…for that matter, nor is CLA, not really anyway.
Only one study see’s it in favorable light.
At $64.99 it isn’t the cheapest even if you did want to gamble with it.
At just 2300mg per day this sort of sits midway in the pack.
Performix Time-Release Sport CLA Fat Burner Review Conclusion
This offers more than most, not necessarily in quantity but in additional ingredients included compared to many CLA supplements.
However, those additional ingredients’ benefits are debatable at best.
Except for Carnitine L-Tartrate but for this we need at least 2000mg, and this only offers 2300mg combined with 3 ingredients in the much scorned proprietary blend.
Therefore, on paper, yes, it does add a little more, but it also leaves us so empty handed.
Results are debatable, so is the real benefits to buying this at all.
Why put it to chance, especially at $64.99 per month.
