Advanced Male Enhancement & Testosterone Booster With Horny Goat Weed & Maca Root Review

Advanced Male Enhancement Reviewed

Testosterone Booster First Look

What is it about this testosterone booster from Advanced Male that makes it different?

What strikes me first is the herbal remedy image that is projected from this.

That is reassuring from a natural and no artificial ingredients stand point, the packaging is fairly plain and simple, it is also a bit cheap looking too, as if very little thought has been given to it – it looks far from a premium product at this point.

I think it is also important to note that on the Amazon listing refers to contain herbs that have been used for centuries by men.

Now, this is all well and good, but what matters is if they are scientifically proven to be effective, not just the belief by tribesmen that they’re effective.

Ingredients: The Science

advanced male enhancement ingredients list

There’s a low daily dose of 1560mg here spread across several ingredients, the main being horny goat weed consisting of 1000mg.

Tongkat Ali (AKA Longjack or Eurycoma Longifolia)

There is not a great deal of evidence available that will highlight how effect tongkat ali is at stimulating more testosterone.

However, tongkat ali can help reduce overall stress that you will experience from day-to-day life.

Stresses that we encounter from areas such as lifestyle habits which may include diet or exercise can have a negative impact on your levels of testosterone.

As such, this can help work to preserve testosterone and help other areas stimulate more test production. [1]

Panex Ginseng

Considered the true ginseng. Pananx ginseng can help improve multiple areas of health.

One of which is increasing test levels.

This is because ginseng has protective effects which can prevent damage to the testes from toxins.

This can enable them to produce a healthy supply of testosterone more easily. [2]

Horny Goat Weed

Much of the science behind the naming of horny goat weed is because goats have been known to be more frisky after eating the plant.

This was then marketed to people, who were expecting the same effects.

A compound in horny goat weed does seem to be able to reduce bone deterioration and there does appear to be some aphrodisiac effects.

Changes in testosterone levels do not seem to be overly impressive. [3]

Maca Root

Can maca have as much effect on testosterone levels than it can on mood and libido?

No, i’m afraid not.

There’s also a dose included in this product which is far below the 1500-3000mg which is the usual dose in studies meaning this is going to prove rather ineffective. [4]

L-Arginine

Arginine is credited with helping to open up the blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

Often though that it can also increase natural production of nitric oxide, however, this is yet to be proven in studies.

One problem with Arginine is how poorly it is absorbed by the body rendering it useless.

This is often odes at over 3g yet this has only 20mg.

Arginine in this supplement is not going to have any positive effect whatsoever. [5]

Velvet Bean (Macuna Pruriens)

Macuna is not quite as popular as it should be. But these bean has been used since 1000BC.

For good reason, too.

Men who are healthy yet infertile have seen significant increases of testosterone. Not only that, there have been notable increases of sperm quantity and quality.

Mucuna is also a powerful ingredient that fights the increase of estrogenic effects, too. [6]

Saw Palmetto

For a long time saw palmetto has been touted as a testosterone booster, yet the proof for these claims has yet to be discovered.

It is also used to try and treat prostate growth but this is not confirmed either.

As of yet no-one knows what doses are preferred or effective because we cannot see any benefit from taking it. [7]

Polypodium Vulgare

Polypodium vulgare is a fern type plant found in woodland.

The best bit of research I could find suggests that it is a central nervous system depressant. [8]

Muira Puama

Muira is often used as an aphrodisiac regardless of the lacking scientific research that is available.

Its better use seems to be as an anti-stress product. If you are my weight which is 200lbs you would need a dose of over 1500mg for any effects.

Muama also seems to have a positive impact on memory. [9]

Dose

2 pills per day.

Personally a better dosing structure is to spread 4 pills out evenly throughout the day to ensure you reduce the peaks and sudden, prolonged troughs where your body hasn’t got any nutrients to process to stimulate testosterone levels.

There’s a low dose of 1560mg per day.

This is poor considering for best effects a few of the included ingredients require a much larger dose.

Pros

Ummm, well, there’s a bit of evidence suggesting that testosterone levels maybe increased by taking some of the ingredients listed.

There’s also a bit of evidence stating the contradictory as well.

I think it is a silly having 1000mg of horny goat weed when its actual benefits are far fewer than other individual ingredients.

This means that anything else which has shown promise such as Panax Ginseng is left with a highly substandard dose of 20mg when 200-400mg is advised.

It is much the same for Tongkat Ali which languishes at 100mg.

Cons

At least there isn’t a proprietary blend here as witnessed by other, lesser products.

I do appreciate that this product is as much about libido as it is about testosterone but I feel it has missed a trick somewhat by the overbearing horny goat weed.

Or rather, the product should be much higher dosed, around the 3000mg daily level would have been more beneficial and then the other, almost forgotten ingredients could have benefited.

There could also have been the inclusion of other, proven, testosterone boosting ingredients such as fenugreek, magnesium, zinc, b6, b12, D-Asparitc Acid and D3 as well.

I feel it is not really reaching its full potential as an active product as it currently stands.

Review Conclusion

The overbearing horny goat weed almost ruins a product with some further promise.

However, the low dose full stop does as much harm; more proven ingredients with a overall higher dose to allow them to be more effective is what is required here.

As it is, it is just hanging on and that isn’t quite good enough and cannot anywhere near touch the top 3 boosters on the market at present.
