My Black Ops by Grenade Fat Burner Review

My Black Ops by Grenade Fat Burner Review

My Black Ops by Grenade Fat Burner Review First Look:

There’s a lot of change at work which has opened up a some exciting opportunities. This essentially could give me the time to put more focus in on my training and other pursuits.

It will also give me more freedom for my nutrition so I keep in netter overall health and shape.

All of this change will start to happen on my 34th birthday.

This is a bit of luck because I am starting to move away from the youth territory in their twenties and firmly in to the older category when most people start to become more sedentary in their lifestyle.

So, having the opportunity to do more for my fitness and be able to prove that being in good shape and health isn’t beyond the realms of possibility is very exciting for me.

This also means I can try and test more supplements to see what is effective and what is essentially a crock of shit.

Because, the supplement world is a bit of a Wild West, and you cannot necessarily trust the big brands, as they have it even easier to spin a yarn and get you to hand over your cash.

However, I am still training, while I can to maintain a regular regime which keeps my strength and fat levels at a satisfactory point.

This is not to say, I can gain more momentum and increase my performance any further…

This is exactly where an effective fat burner can help.

Fat burners can give you that edge whereby you burn the extra calories required which help toward creating that deficit which can lead to fat loss.

This fat cutting supplement comes form the Grenade family which, if anything, has released a number of eye catchy supplements based on packaging and branding alone.

Yet, their campaign has not just been one dimensional.

Under the surface the Grenade products do deliver, they include well research ingredients that are transparent and back by proof.

There’s only been a few minor issues or things overlooked that have prevented their products from being the best we have seen.

I wonder whether this Black Ops supplement changes that?

Grenade have quite a big following, too, no less down to their marketing campaigns, and this following adds a lot of confidence to the brand which people want to see before spending money.

However, if a company with such a big following becomes lackadaisical and begins to rest on their laurels or simply wants to make more profit they may wish to risk not spending as much money of R&D which can reflect in their products.

They maybe able to get away with this if people naturally assume it is a great product and trustworthy due to the popularity.

I do remember a conversation with a colleague of mine quite a while ago and he exclaimed  excitedly how he was on the Grenade fat burners and the impression I got was that he was just trying to show off how ‘alpha’ he was by taking something that looked like a grenade.

I asked how he knew it was so much better. He didn’t have an answer other that it was Grenade.

That, is the power of marketing.

What can a fat burner really do?

You may well be surprised actually.

The idea that an effective fat burner just magically makes your waist smaller is far from the truth.

However, only the effective fat burners contain a number of ingredients in correct doses that work harmoniously and through a number of outcomes help you lose fat mass, not muscle.

Their benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Increase energy – This will help you be more active and stimulate you for effective workouts
  • Thermogenic – These ingredients will increase the temperature of your core which increases calorie expenditure
  • Appetite control – The ability to feel fuller and not to fall for sweet, calorie laden treats

As a result I tend to supplement my exercise regime with a fat burner supplement.

I have found Instant Knockout to offer the best results and as a result I try to use that daily.button-4

Ingredients: The Science

Black Pepper / Piper Nigrum (BioPerine)

The extract of piperine, called BioPerine®  in the patented form, has been clinically tested in the United States.

BioPerine®  significantly enhances the bioavailability of various supplement nutrients through increased absorption.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9619120

Vitamin B6

Using it in its most natural form, pyridoxine, B6 is an essential nutrient to raising the body’s metabolism and aiding the fat burning process.

It also contributes to the reduction of fatigue and if you are not getting enough B6 you can suffer from cognitive decline as well as depression.

B6 also contributes to normal and healthy hormone levels.

Capsicum (Cayenne)

Known to boost metabolism, cayenne causes the body to produce extra heat and burn more calories for fuel.

This is found in our favorite fat burner Instant Knockout.

Choline

Choline is mostly used for either its cognitive boosting properties or as a liver health agent, able to reduce fatty liver buildup.

It may also be a stimulant although this is based on anecdote.

To improve brain function (cognitive) you will require a dose of 250-500mg per day for any benefits. So this is very dose dependent.

It is worth checking this out on the ingredient panel when looking for a supplement otherwise it will be a waste of time and money.

Choline has not been proven to improve or increase aerobic capacity, fatigue or training capacity.

Niacin B3

Unlike some vitamins, Niacin doesn’t have a long list of benefits and advantages, however, it does help release the energy your body needs from foods as well as keeping your skin and hair healthy.

Remember, the skin is your largest organ, so it pays to keep it in good health.

Chromium

This mineral helps your body use fats and carbohydrates more effectively for energy production.

It also helps move glucose from the bloodstream and in to the cells for energy.

Caffeine Anhydrous:

The purest form of caffeine available.

It stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure to give you an extra boost and hit that PB.

Caffeine also increase resting energy expenditure which translates as burning more calories.

This is found in 4 Gauge which is the best pre-workout.

It is also found in Instant Knockout which is the best fat burner available at present.

Taurine

It has been touted that Taurine can help mental performance.

Early clinical research suggested that taurine, in combination with caffeine, glucuronolactone, and B vitamins, can improve attention and reasoning in adolescents, but does not improve memory.

However, there is insufficient evidence to prove this is always the case.

Green Tea

A well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.

One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.

Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect. Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

Cocoa Bean Extract (Theobroma)

Studies show that in conjunction with a controlled diet, cocoa bean extract may play a role in body weight management.

Blue Green Algae

This has been used for centuries and has great anti-inflammatory effects which can prevent chronic inflammatory diseases such as cardiovascular disease and obesity.

Chronic inflammation is a large concern for the health of western populations.

There is a little warning about Blue Green Algae though because there’s a risk of toxins when it is naturally harvested.

Dose:

Four pills to be taken daily. This is to be split in to two doses of two.

We prefer at least 4 pills spread out across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process rather than peaks and troughs.

If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.

Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.

What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

This results in a daily dose of 2520mg which is almost on a par with the most effective competitors.

Pros:

You would buy this supplement based alone on the packaging, it is really eye catching and the branding is masculine. It shouts top dollar and which guy doesn’t want to feel like they’re in CoD?

As already mentioned it has the look of a natural and trustworthy product that easily converts to sales based on association.

As a result, the ingredients panel may not often be observed or analyzed, one thing is for sure though, the daily dose is higher than many other fat burners.

Let us look at the ingredients in more depth to see what works, and what doesn’t…

B6 has a good few benefits to it, namely fighting fatigue, improving cognitive function but also increasing metabolism.

Cayenne is another ingredient that can boost metabolism by raising the body temperature.

Caffeine and Green Tea work particularly well with Cayenne.

Niacin is not really a heroic nutrient but it does help the release of energy from foods while contributing to healthier skins and hair.

Chromium is a big contributor for helping your body utilize fats and carbohydrates better for energy.

Theobroma is lacking absolute concrete evidence for its claimed weight loss benefits, however, there’s a degree of possibility.

Blue Green Algae seems to be a very effective form of anti-inflammatory and a preventative of stress which can lead to chronic disease such as a obesity.

Choline can not only just help reduce fatty liver build up, but also helps improve cognitive (brain) function. Choline is dose sensitive but there’s more than enough per daily dose with Black Ops.

So it all looks and sounds pretty great, but there’s a few areas that need discussing…

button-3

Cons:

So, where to pick up on?

Well, of the included ingredients, the only real problems are with the uncertainty of Theobroma’s benefits as the evidence is not entirely concrete.

Then there’s the slight risk with naturally harvested Blue Green Algae being toxic, therefore more regulation is required around the administration of that.

Otherwise, the only real issues are ingredients that haven’t made the cut, but really should have…

These include:

  • B12
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Glucomannan
  • Green coffee
  • Vitamin C

It certainly does offer close to the fat burning performance we want and is available in other fat burning supplements such as Instant Knockout.

My Black Ops by Grenade Fat Burner Review Conclusion:

Grenade have not disappointed with this addition to their supplement line up.

They could have easily churned out a collection of ill researched ingredients and many of the followers would have lapped it up anyway purely because of the branding, as per the example I gave you about a colleague.

However, they haven’t, due to their branding I guess they really are under the spotlight, not necessarily from the buying public but certainly from competitors who would take the opportunity to arise any foul play or chinks in their armor.

As it is, Grenade Black Ops is a good fat burning supplement with little to criticize apart from the few other ingredients it would have benefited more from including.

However, I guess their point of view is that their other fat burner supplements will cover those areas and this gives them the opportunity to sell another product.

The problem is, that doesn’t really give the customer the best product.

Anything else worth adding to this review..?

Yes, there are some other products such as those in our top 3 fat burners are more attractive propositions.
