My Celsius RTD Sparkling Fat Burner Review
My Celsius RTD Sparkling Fat Burner Review First Look:
Summer is fast approaching and, if you are like me, you may be a slightly conscious about your fat levels.
I also have a double need to lose a bit of weight as I need to pass a military fitness test as part of my Army assessment which is in about a months time.
Now, I know I am fit enough to pass, however, I would prefer to lose a bit of unwanted mass to help me even further.
As a user of different supplements, I appreciate how frustrating it can be to take lots of different pills each day, and it is easy to forget about them.
Sometimes, supplements come in powders to mix with water, these tend to be pre workout supplements.
However, doing that is like having concentrated juice that you have to dilute with water – it is never as good as the pre-made juice you can buy ready to drink.
May be Celcius has just solved all of our convenience and taste needs.
This fat burner supplement comes as a ready to drink sparkling drink in a can.
So that’s like having a treat but also it has health benefits. Take my money!
However, convenience is what we need. It is hard to find the time to get everything right.
It is hard to hit the gym all the time, or cycle to work, or even meal prep like a professional athlete.
This is exactly where an effective fat burner can help.
Fat burners can give you that edge whereby you burn the extra calories required which help toward creating that deficit which can lead to fat loss.
Especially if you cannot commit to a really good and consistent cardio regime.
So, it is a welcome surprise to see that you can open a can of soda during the day and not only feel refreshed but quench your thirst and at the same time get the nutrition that can help stimulate fat loss.
Let’s then just see whether this is a gimmick or an actual beneficial product…
What can a fat burner really do?
You may well be surprised actually.
The idea that an effective fat burner just magically makes your waist smaller is far from the truth.
However, only the effective fat burners contain a number of ingredients in correct doses that work harmoniously and through a number of outcomes help you lose fat mass, not muscle.
Their benefits include, but are not limited to:
- Increase energy – This will help you be more active and stimulate you for effective workouts
- Thermogenic – These ingredients will increase the temperature of your core which increases calorie expenditure
- Appetite control – The ability to feel fuller and not to fall for sweet, calorie laden treats
As a result I tend to supplement my exercise regime with a fat burner supplement.
I have found Instant Knockout to offer the best results and as a result I try to use that daily.
Ingredients: The Science
Glucuronolactone
A component of many energy drinks, not great news considering there’s fuck all research on it.
https://examine.com/supplements/glucuronolactone/
Salt (sodium)
An essential mineral; its consumption is critical to our health. However, Americans plus a lot of Western countries do consume double the recommended daily intake.
Excess sodium may not raise blood pressure, but it is associated with other health issues, such as kidney damage and an increased risk of cognitive decline.
https://examine.com/nutrition/awful-nutrition-myths/
Calcium
Results show that training results in increased testosterone levels in athletes and that the increase is greater if accompanied by calcium supplementation.
However, calcium supplements are also known to increase artery plaque which in the long term can cause cardiovascular problems.
Read more about that, here.
However, with supplements such as this, there is little chance they will be used constantly and consistently day after day.

Paullinia Cupana (AKA Guarana)
Studies note that 75mg guarana (9mg caffeine) was able to enhance cognitive scores related to memory and reaction time with a subsequent dose-response study noting that 75mg was more effective than higher (150-300mg) and lower (37.5mg) doses.

Chromium
This mineral helps your body use fats and carbohydrates more effectively for energy production.
It also helps move glucose from the bloodstream and in to the cells for energy.

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)
Pantothenic acid, as with other B vitamins are able to convert your food in to energy.
They’re also able to help you body use fats and proteins effectively, notwithstanding the creation of red blood cells which carry oxygen to your muscles.

Biotin
Biotin is an important component of enzymes in the body that break down certain substances like fats, carbohydrates, and others.

Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin)
Gives you more energy and boost your metabolism, helping you shed unwanted pounds.
Ensure you are not deficient in Vitamin B12 so you can do that quick 10 miler at 5am…
http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/supplement/vitamin-b12-cobalamin
Taurine
It has been touted that Taurine can help mental performance.
Early clinical research suggested that taurine, in combination with caffeine, glucuronolactone, and B vitamins, can improve attention and reasoning in adolescents, but does not improve memory.
However, there is insufficient evidence to prove this is always the case.

Caffeine
It stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure to give you an extra boost and hit that PB.
Caffeine Anhydrous is the purest form of caffeine so always look out for it.
This is found in 4 Gauge which is the best pre-workout.
It is also found in Instant Knockout which is the best fat burner available at present.

Zingiber Officinale (Ginger)
Whilst tested in rats extract of Zingiber Officinale significantly increased in the relative weight of the testis, the serum testosterone level, testicular cholesterol level and epididymal a-glucosidase activity.
However, these rats were given 600mg per kilo of body weight daily. So that is a fuck load you would need.
Ginger has a great ability to reduce body weight without inhibiting pancreatic lipase level, or affecting bilirubin concentration, with positive effect on increasing peroxisomal catalase level and HDL-cholesterol.

Vitamin B6
Using it in its most natural form, pyridoxine, B6 is an essential nutrient to raising the body’s metabolism and aiding the fat burning process.
It also contributes to the reduction of fatigue and if you are not getting enough B6 you can suffer from cognitive decline as well as depression.
B6 also contributes to normal and healthy hormone levels.

Niacin (B3)
Unlike some vitamins, Niacin doesn’t have a long list of benefits and advantages, however, it does help release the energy your body needs from foods as well as keeping your skin and hair healthy.
Remember, the skin is your largest organ, so it pays to keep it in good health.

Riboflavin (B2)
Important for body growth and red blood cell production.
It also aids in the release of energy from proteins.

Vitamin C
Studies have shown that is a person has a deficiency of Vitamin C in their blood stream it also correlates with increased levels of fat.

Green Tea
A well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.
One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.
Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect.
It has been shown to help lose almost 5% body weight over a three month period.
Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

Dose:
One can per day.
It is good to spread out the dose across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process rather than peaks and troughs.
That’s the problem with these RTD supplements, you pretty much have them all in one go. Especially if it is sparkling, as this is.
If you leave it too long it will turn flat.
If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.
Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.
What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.
It is better to have a continued trickle effect.
This results in a daily dose of just over 1960mg which is not particularly high when compared to competitors.
Price
$8.49 for a pack of four cans.
A month supply would come in around the $60 mark.
Pros:
There is a simply vast number of ingredients contained within this RTD fat burner from Celcius.
In fact, many look to be the same as found in HEAT from Nutramino which is like a pre workout RTD.
So, what does this offer that can help us cut fat?
Let’s take a closer look…
Green Tea is a proven ingredient that we see in all of the better fat burner supplements on the market.
Vitamin C deficiency also correlates with increased levels of fat, so ensure that you get enough vitamin C.
Riboflavin helps your body release energy, it is also needed for body growth as well as produce red blood cells which transport oxygen to the muscles and organs.
Niacin helps your body release energy from foods to help fuel your workout regime in order to burn those calories.
B6 helps control hormone levels and produce energy.
B12 is good for raising the metabolism which helps you burn those extra calories to get closer to achieving that calories deficit.
Biotin helps your body breakdown carbs and fats to use as fuel.
Pantothenic acid also helps your body produce energy, breakdown foods and produce red blood cells for transporting oxygen to the muscles and organs.
Calcium can enable an increase of testosterone and increase physical performance.
Calcium isn’t without its risks though.
Chromium is another ingredient able to help breakdown and utilize carbs and fats. It also extracts glucose from the blood stream for increases of energy.
Sodium is an essential salt that has an impact on physical performance. If you are low on salt it can affect how well you can run, lift or cycle.
You lose salt through heavy sweating or passing lots of water.
Yet, too much salt in your diet can have a negative impact on your health.
Guarana, especially when combined with Caffeine can improve cognitive functioning.
It is very dose sensitive though. Too much or too little has a limited effect.
Caffeine is a stimulant that can increase energy, increase thermogenic effects and improve focus.
Ginger has demonstrated i tests that it is able to contribute to weight loss.
Cons:
Looking at these ingredients it is hard to find any that do not have some sort of benefit, however, these benefits are often more suited for a pre workout supplement.
The actual fat burning, thermogenic ingredients are limited.
There’s just seven from a list of sixteen. Now this may seem like a healthy number, and it isn’t low but Three fall within a proprietary blend and the others are in comparatively low doses.
If we then consider the fact that some of these ingredients combined fall within a secretive proprietary blend, things start to look even less promising.
If you are not familiar with a proprietary blend, watch the video below of me in my old garage gym.
If you have skipped the video, a proprietary blend essentially means that although we know which ingredients are included in the supplement, we have no idea of the individual breakdown of each ingredient.
Legally, the supplement company could literally include just trace amounts per ingredient and the rest being a low cost filler.
Just to repeat that, this is completely legal.
However, there’s also other ingredients that have no real proof of benefit to us to reduce fat mass.
These include…
Glucuronolactone has not been proven to offer any fat loss or even energy benefits even though it is often found in energy drinks.
Taurine in the past appeared to offer some positive effects towards working mental performance, yet the results are so inconsistent that this can not be certain.
Then there are the dose issues with the following:
Calcium can cause artery plaque which can lead to cardiovascular disease if supplemented consistently for long periods of time.
Guarana needs to be dosed at around 75mg to be effective, yet it falls within the concealed proprietary blend meaning we have no idea of its content.
Then, there’s a number of ingredients that are missing, yet are proven to be beneficial.
These include:
- Zinc
- Green Coffee extract
- Cayenne
- Magnesium
- Synephrine
My Celsius RTD Sparkling Fat Burner Review Conclusion:
Okay, this offers a combination of convenience, fat burning benefit and ingredients that are great for energy production.
The convenience factor is a double edged sword, to get the most of the nutrients it is best to spread the dose out over the course of the day rather than consume everything in one go which can waste some ingredients.
It does, however, offer a nice delivery method that removes the need to take pills which can become laborious and its easy to forget.
Yet, the main problem with this is that it seems to be more focused on the energy side of things rather than the fat burning area.
Yes, there are several fat burning ingredients, but there could be more. It would help if the doses were higher, too.
Then there is the issue of the proprietary blend which blunts the performance and confidence.
So, overall this isn’t too bad on paper, but the reality is that it under performs compared to the more traditional fat burner supplements.
Anything else worth adding to this review..?
With a low dose, overwhelming number of not entirely ingredients, proprietary blend and the omission of other ingredients which are proven and readily available in other fat burners, the only reason we would choose this is because of the convenience factor.
Yes, there are some other products such as those in our top 3 fat burners are more attractive propositions.
