Fitness Authority Xtreme Napalm Igniter Shot Pre Workout Review

Fitness Authority Xtreme Napalm Pre Workout Review First Look:

Do you love the smell of napalm in the morning?

Do you know what I could smell first thing this morning? Cat shit. Yes, my cat had shit on the carpet in my spare room. Typical.

Clearly out of sorts from the house move she has no idea what is right or wrong.

Now I live next door from a church, I am tempted to force her there every Sunday for some teachings about ethics and morals, because shitting on my lightly colored carpet is not okay.

However, more importantly we have a small, ready to drink bottle of Xtreme Napalm pre workout.

It is like a shot of energy, or at least that is what we are led to believe. A concentrated version of a pre workout that should be powerful and effective.

It is also mint lemon flavor which I found bizarre at best and down right horrible at worse.

However, with labeling like this I was expecting some sort of aggressive consequence for drinking this potion.

Almost immediately I felt something…yes, a bead of sweat dripping from my hairline. It was red hot in my lounge and due to my house not having as much space for my gym equipment, for now, it is in here.

Ingredients:

Caffeine – It stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure to give you an extra boost and hit that PB.

Caffeine Anhydrous is the purest form of caffeine so always look out for it.

This is found in 4 Gauge which is the best pre-workout.

Beta-alanine  – Supplementation of this non essential amino acid aids the production of carnosine. That’s a compound that plays a role in muscle endurance in high-intensity exercise.

That said, studies have not exactly been positive nor entirely conclusive.

Taurine – It has been touted that Taurine can help mental performance.

Early clinical research suggested that taurine, in combination with caffeine, glucuronolactone, and B vitamins, can improve attention and reasoning in adolescents, but does not improve memory.

However, there is insufficient evidence to prove this is always the case.

Glucuronolactone – This is found in many energy drinks yet there’s a scarce amount of studies and information that has been carried out to prove it is effective.

Hydrolysed Caesin – Studies suggest that hydrolysed caesin offers no more benefit that normal high protein such as whey on energy expenditure or appetite regulation.

Dose:

One shot is 60ml.

This contains a total of 7700mg of the ingredients.

That isn’t a lot, but it doesn’t really have a long list of ingredients included. So actually proportionally it is about right for a pre workout.

It tasted pretty horrendous, but maybe that is just me.

Effects & Benefits:

Caffeine is a widely popular stimulant used in many pre workouts formulas and fat burners for its thermogenic and energizing effects.

It can give you that energy to run more or lift heavier.

How did it feel?

I immediately felt a tingling sensation that lasted for over an hour.

I did feel more awake as well from the Caffeine but not the extent that I was storming around the place like a possessed dog.

In fact overall it was a little lackluster. I found my session lifting weights extremely difficult. I understand I have not hit the gym for about a month but this did nothing to really help me at all.

I needed something much stronger and that could provide more focus and determination.

Negatives:

The result of taking this was not particularly effective, not what is considered a pre workout anyway.

Looking through the ingredients it is clear to see why.

Just Caffeine can offer any proven benefit.

The studies are not entirely conclusive in respect of the other ingredients and realistically this was demonstrated when I took it.

As already mentioned, I needed something strong that would provide energy, explosiveness and focus to smash my sets with vigor.

As it was, I was left really struggling to get through my plan and I felt no energy at all. I just felt a bit more awake thanks to the Caffeine.

Fitness Authority Xtreme Napalm Pre Workout Review Conclusion:

This provided, more than anything, a long tingling sensation.

This is created by the Beta-Alanine. Which, apart from creating a tingling sensation seems to offer no other definite benefit.

The Caffeine will help you stay a bit more awake and should help with your energy levels but I found this not to be entirely the case.

Therefore, of the 5 ingredients just the Caffeine is proven to be effective in studies, the rest are not.
