Most people DO NOT know this about eggs
I’ll let you in to a little secret, whilst at Uni many years ago I worked in an egg factory. Yes they exist, the eggs were trucked in and they were boiled on an industrial scale and I was one of the unfortunate souls who peeled/shelled the boiled eggs for 12 hours a day.
The factory stunk, you had to wear wellington boots, hair nets, aprons – the works – whilst being holed up in a cold, wet and windowless environment quickly peeling/shelling boiled eggs.
Needless to say I learnt a few lessons from my stint:
- Boiled and shelled eggs bounce
- You can shell an egg with two fingers and 1 thumb
- ‘Off’ eggs are used in mayonnaise
I still have eggs for breakfast…
