My Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Insta-Test Testosterone Booster Review
My Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Insta-Test Testosterone Booster Review First Look
There are a number of products from Sheer Strength Labs including a fat burner.
Test boosters are of interest to me because I try to hit the weights as much as possible.
When you want to maintain and build extra muscle a high level of testosterone is necessary. Testosterone is the hormone which will promote growth and strength.
Last night I was in the gym trying to develop my chest and leg strength, so today I am in recovery mode.
When you rest, your body actually releases more growth hormone to help you recover and grow.
However, testosterone is important for other areas of health, not just muscle building.
It is important that men actually maintain a high and healthy level of testosterone.
That is because men suffer from the male version of the menopause, it is called the andropause.
The menopause effects women differently to men.
Changes relating to Andropause happen over a much longer period of time. This makes it almost unnoticeable.
Ingredients: The Science
So, let’s list through each ingredient and look at the associated studies:
Arginine
This is supposed to help increase blood flow and help increase nitric oxide.
Studies have been inconclusive. With reliability being poor on tested humans.
You need 3-6g of Arginine for best possible effects.
Too much Arginine has the possibility of creating stomach problems and diarrhea.
There is no proof to suggest Arginine will increase testosterone levels.
[Wu G, Morris SM Jr. Arginine metabolism: nitric oxide and beyond. Biochem J. (1998)]
Tribulus Terrestris
The many tests on Tribulus have found no increases in testosterone levels.
It has failed to increase natural testosterone levels and does not increase physical performance.
Here’s three studies to review.
[Antonio J, et al. The effects of Tribulus terrestris on body composition and exercise performance in resistance-trained males. Int J Sport Nutr Exerc Metab. (2000)]
[Rogerson S, et al. The effect of five weeks of Tribulus terrestris supplementation on muscle strength and body composition during preseason training in elite rugby league players. J Strength Cond Res. (2007)]
[Neychev VK, Mitev VI. The aphrodisiac herb Tribulus terrestris does not influence the androgen production in young men. J Ethnopharmacol. (2005)]
Eurycoma Longifolia (Longjack)
There are some claims that Longjack will increase testosterone levels.
Yet, there is very little evidence surrounding the claims.
There’s no human studies available proving Longjack is effective when taken orally.
[Bhat R, Karim AA. Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia Jack): a review on its ethnobotany and pharmacological importance. Fitoterapia. (2010)]
Fenugreek
Studies prove Fenugreek is good for natural testosterone production.
Further research also shows that fenugreek seed extract is able to reduce the daily fat intake in overweight males if taken orally at a dose of 392mg three times daily for two to six weeks.
So, to include Fenugreek in your supplement allowance is advised.

Ashwagandha
Primarily found in test boosters because of its supposed benefits.
There is little evidence suggesting that Ashwagandha will increase testosterone levels.
Ashwagandha is able to reduce stress and fatigue which can have a negative effect on testicular health.
An effective dose is around 6g per day.
[Ahmad MK, et al. Withania somnifera improves semen quality by regulating reproductive hormone levels and oxidative stress in seminal plasma of infertile males. Fertil Steril. (2010)]
Panax Ginseng
Studies in to Panax Ginseng have discovered that it may have a slight benefit on raising testosterone for infertile men.
[Youl Kang H, et al. Effects of ginseng ingestion on growth hormone, testosterone, cortisol, and insulin-like growth factor 1 responses to acute resistance exercise.J Strength Cond Res. (2002)]
Theobromine
Theobromine can reduce sleepiness and in large quantities produces a jittery sensation.
Boron
In doses of around 6mg Boron seems to increase testosterone and also decrease inflammation.
[Ferrando AA, Green NR. The effect of boron supplementation on lean body mass, plasma testosterone levels, and strength in male bodybuilders. Int J Sport Nutr. (1993)]
Yohimbine
There is no evidence to suggest that Yohimbine can increase testosterone levels.
Yohimbine has been able to reduce fat mass.
It can be dangerous, and should be taken with caution.
[Travison TG, et al. The relationship between libido and testosterone levels in aging men. J Clin Endocrinol Metab. (2006)]
How To Take Insta-Test
Take two pills every 24 hours.
It is better to spread the dose out over the course of the day.
This ensures our body has a constant supply of nutrients to work with.
This will end peaks and troughs.
If you supply your body with lots of the same nutrients at once it will pass what is not required.
Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.
It is better to have a continued trickle effect.
This results in a daily dose of over 855mg which is less than a third of the best test boosters.
Pros
Only four included ingredients will help increase natural testosterone levels for you.
That means that nine ingredients are not effective at increasing testosterone levels.
So what works?
Boron has evidence supporting the mineral as an anti-inflammatory and a testosterone simulator.
Panax Ginseng seems to help raise test levels slightly for infertile men.
Fenugreek is the most powerful. There is evidence confirming its ability to increase natural testosterone levels.
Ashwagandha will not increase testosterone. But it can help reduce stress that would negatively effect testosterone.
Price

Cons
Five of the ingredients do not increase testosterone.
There are other issues surrounding doses. Such as Arginine which requires 6g per day and Ashwagandha which requires about 6g per day as well.
There are also issues related to the safety of this product.

Unwanted Side Effects
The biggest safety concern is with Yohimbine.
Yohimbine can cause the following health problems:
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Anxiety
- Stomach pain
- Manic psychosis
- Suicidal thoughts
Theobromine may cause jittery effects.
Too much Arginine may cause diarrhoea.
My Sheer Strength Labs Sheer Insta-Test Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion
Insta-Test does not contain many of the well known and ingredients proving they can increase testosterone.
There are a further five ingredients included that are not beneficial.
There is also areas for development of the doses. This lacks the doses required for two of the ingredients.
Yohimbine is present which can cause a health risk.
Any final words for this review..?
