My Sports Research Max Potency CLA 1250 Fat Burner Review First Look

I am on vacation a number of times this spring and summer which is extremely fortunate.

The first one is a short break for my thirty fourth birthday, then followed up by a rugby tour with the lads then Mexico.

After Mexico I am cycling along Northern France with a mate just before heading off again with my girlfriend to somewhere else in Europe.

That means a lot of time away from the gym, and with these trips lined up it also means that I have a lot of work to get done before I go away. More time away from the gym.

So, recently I have been cycling to work more as there is nothing worse than getting on a commuter train or bus spending money, not getting any benefit, and getting less fit.

So cycling is the order of the day, to prove it I bought a gilet today…but before I almost transform into a MAMIL (middle aged men in lycra) I am keen to stress that the 400km bike ride around Northern France from Paris to Mont St Michal will be including lots of vineyards and bars.

With such little time and so many commitments and deadlines in place it is hard to get the strength and size plus the cut that you want.

This is exactly where an effective fat burner can help.

Fat burners can give you that edge whereby you burn the extra calories required which help toward creating that deficit which can lead to fat loss.

Especially if you cannot commit to a really good and consistent cardio regime.

This fat burner from Sports Research takes on a modern matt black look with looks clean and neat, it also looks professional, too which helps increase buyer confidence

What can a fat burner really do?

You may well be surprised actually.

The idea that an effective fat burner just magically makes your waist smaller is far from the truth.

However, only the effective fat burners contain a number of ingredients in correct doses that work harmoniously and through a number of outcomes help you lose fat mass, not muscle.

Their benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Increase energy – This will help you be more active and stimulate you for effective workouts
  • Thermogenic – These ingredients will increase the temperature of your core which increases calorie expenditure
  • Appetite control – The ability to feel fuller and not to fall for sweet, calorie laden treats

As a result I tend to supplement my exercise regime with a fat burner supplement.

I have found Instant Knockout to offer the best results and as a result I try to use that daily.button-4

Ingredients: The Science

Safflower Extract

Possibly effective for lowering cholesterol but there’s very little evidence to substantiate any other claims.

Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA)

Initial reports and studies have showed that CLA helped a bunch of women who did no exercise lose 9% of their body fat.

However, further studies are showing very mixed, if not medicore results that aren’t really setting the world alight, in fact the side effects are having their presence felt moreso outweighing any real benefits.

Any benefits that were found meant that the composition had to be greater than 80%.

Dose

Up to three pills to be taken in 24 hours.

It is good to spread out the dose across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process rather than peaks and troughs.

If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.

Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.

What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

This results in a daily dose of 7311mg which is high.

Pros

This is a peculiar proposition.

That is because, in essence it is not a fat burner. A fat burner encourages the body to raise the metabolism usually by using thermogenic ingredients which raise the core body temperature.

Your body responds by trying to cool it down and burns extra calories in the process.

Thermogenic fat burners may also include ingredients that can stimulate you and provide you with energy so that you can hit the gym before or after  along day at work.

Again, this helps you burn more calories.

This is different.

It is different because it is also quite puzzling. Let’s talk through the ingredients to see why…

Safflower seems to offer very little benefit other than lowering cholesterol, nothing else has been verified.

CLA is the big one and the enigma.

This is because when it was used in an early study the female participants lost 9% of their body fat, obviously these results sent shockwaves around the health and fitness world.

Everyone then tried to replicate these results by using CLA as a eight management tool, yet no one could get close to those initial findings.

Plus, for there to be even a glimmer of a positive outcome there must also be a composition of 80%, this doesn’t give us any of that information.

Cons

There just are not the proven and reliable results available from scientific studies for these two ingredients.

Sure, CLA may work in some circumstances to help you lose body fat but there’s no consistent evidence to support this.

Plus, no one has been able to replicate the initial findings.

Safflower is not proven to have any weight loss benefit at all.

Then, as already mentioned this does not include any thermogenic ingredients nor any ingredients that can help you gain more energy or focus so you feel like you have the energy to hit the gym or sidewalk after a day at work rather than siting on the sofa for 5 hours watching TV.

It would be better if Safflower was taken out and if CLA was to stay we should have a composition of 80% plus the support from other ingredients.

These include:

  • Zinc
  • Caffeine
  • Magnesium
  • Green Coffee extract
  • Vitamin C
  • B vitamins
  • Fenugreek
  • Cayenne
  • Synephrine

Without any of these, this will not have the maximum effect on fat loss.

My Sports Research Max Potency CLA 1250 Fat Burner Review Conclusion

This supplement does not contain any ingredients that can demonstrate a proven track record to encourage weight loss.

CLA at best may help and contribute to weight loss but the findings from studies and further research have been patchy at best.

It also misses out on including additional further ingredients that are proven to offer some benefit when it comes to burning fat.

With these important elements omitted this is not going to provide optimal results.

Anything else worth adding to this review..?

With a mere two ingredients included, both of which offer no concrete evidence that they cut fat, you are better off looking at what we rate highly for fat loss.
