First Look:

Look at this! Alpha Status! Wowzer’s. We’re offered advanced testosterone support in a red and black bottle that reminds me of the interior of a whore house. I’d better stop there…

10 ingredients make up this new to the market product. 10 is a good number of ingredients providing they are all effective, let’s find out.

Whhhhaaaaaaaaattt?! It states there’s a proprietary blend. For fuck sake. We all know a proprietary blend is just used to mask the exact weights and measures for each ingredient listed and it is the biggest scam in the supplement industry.

Not the best of starts then. I am disappoint.

Zinc – This mineral is great for boosting testosterone, it is necessary for reactions in your brain and promotes the production of both testosterone and growth hormone. The amount here is about half of that found in a good ZMA product.

Niacin –  Higher amounts of niacin can improve cholesterol levels and lower cardiovascular risks. However, the jury is out on these real benefits.

Tongkat Ali – Eurycoma (LongJack) is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent. However, there is a lack of evidence for testosterone boosting in humans, although some very limited evidence in animals.

Maca Root – This Peruvian strain of ginseng is great for lifting libido and mood, however, when it comes to raising testosterone levels it has no effect at all. No significant influences on testosterone in any tested demographic I’m afraid.

Panex Ginseng – This form of Ginseng is the most highly researched. There’s lots of evidence which suggest cognitive function, mood and immunity is increased, however, although there is evidence for better erections and an increase in testosterone production for infertile men there is also evidence contradictory evidence also.

Horny Goat Weed – Epimedium, the suspected active component of horny goat weed, appears to act as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, similar to some drugs used for erectile dysfunction. It does not, however, stimulate testosterone production.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3551978/

Fenugreek Seed (Trigonella Foenum-Graecum) – It is claimed by researchers that fenugreek works to increase testosterone or androgen levels, which decrease as you age.

Caffeine – This can assist with endurance, tested athletes saw an edge from caffeine in scientific studies. In some trials, the stimulant boosted athletes’ speed. In others, it helped them last longer before they spent all their energy.  Caffeine also raises the metabolism which means you burn more calories. Some studies show that it can curb soreness after exercise, too. This means you could get back to your training sooner and training means more calories burnt. This is present in all 3 of our Top Fat Burners.

Copper – studies have shown that people with high amounts of copper actually have lower testosterone levels; it always puzzles me as to why manufacturers would include this.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21671089

Tribulus – Once again, the old tribulus raises its ugly head.  The problem is that because this has been touted about for so long as a bit of a miracle plant extract used by the mysterious Eastern Bloc Olympic Athletes during the Cold War people have started to believe the hype and it is an easily recognizable ingredient the ill informed will have heard about down the gym.  The issue is that it has not been scientifically proven to raise testosterone levels in any shape or form.

Avoid like a medieval plague if you are looking for muscular gainz.

Dose:

You will not believe this but this has what I am almost sure of, the lowest amount of ingredients; 518.5mg per day!  That is shocking! Plus you only have 1 capsule per day which is completely ineffective. Ideally we would like to see 4 doses per day in order to provide us with a constant trickle of nutrients to keep stimulating testosterone production.

Take a look at our Top 3 boosters for something effective.

Effects:

Shine a light, realistically at these low doses we are not going to see many real world benefits. Not when there are only 2 ingredients that are known for stimulating T-levels. There’s a paltry 7.5mg of Zinc which is substandard and we do not know the levels of Fenugreek because it is hidden in a proprietary blend.

There’s a whopping 1600mg of D-Aspartic Acid alone in our #2 testosterone booster which is 3 times the amount of these ingredients.

Negatives:

This is a really dismal offering from Alpha Status. I’m not sure where they did their research (if any) but is was definitely at the school of ‘sitting at the back not listening’. It is not difficult to do some thorough research to find out what ingredients work and what don’t and also what amount of ingredients are effective. These have done no such research at all with the look of it.

It is worth reiterating that in our top 3 rated testosterone boosters they have around 8 solid ingredients which all have proof backing their usefulness and they will contain more D-Aspartic Acid than this product has in it, period.

Conclusion:

Terrible. Period.

Probably the lowest amount of ingredients available in a testosterone booster. A very poor dosing schedule. A ridiculously low number of proven ingredients…blah blah blah. I’ll stop right away, it will only get me vexed.

Take a look at what works and don’t fall foul of spurious claims.
