The Iranians Join Russia at the forefront of Doping Allegations

It’s a subject that seems to never end and it appears, in a wanton disregard for Doping regulations, Iran has joined the hierarchy alongside Russia in the quest to have the most weightlifting athletes banned.

Yes, allegations have leaked from Tehran that in the run up to Rio 2016 Olympic Games, IWF President Tamas Ajan has confirmed that five of his recent Olympic Champions has tested positive for banned substances in the wake of urine testing.

These notable five gold medalists will no doubt be prohibited from competing in Rio and have their gold medals stripped, as of yet these medalists have not been named and flogged in public.

Now this begs the question, are the Russian’s and Iranians (call me racist but I imagine China would be in on this sort of naughtiness) the only teams being (what appears to be) forced fed drugs by their governments to raise the profile of their countries’ a la Cold War hi-jinks? Or is everyone else just better at hiding doping misuse?

I cannot imagine any of the drugs being produced in these countries would be any stronger than anywhere else considering the elevated amounts of Tren people now have to administer to get huge gains compared to decades ago, maybe it is all of the impurities that are blowing their cover..?

So, who is the naughtiest of all? Or who is just the worst at maintaining secrecy?
