A new meta analysis finds that compared to people who don’t drink coffee at all, drinking 1-2 cups per day has a significant impact on the risk of developing cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s.
Overall, coffee has been found to be beneficial and may actually help you live longer, further study in to coffee by the Chinese PLA General Hospital suggests that it can help keep your mind sharp.
The researchers found that drinking coffee of no more than 2 cups of coffee per day reduced the risk of developing a disease such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by up to 18% which is a staggering figure.
What is important though is not to over do your coffee consumption as it could make things worse. Whilst drinking a moderate amount of coffee is good, drinking more is associated with a much higher risk of cognitive decline.
If you are considering a coffee cleanse, maybe just aim to reduce your coffee intake rather than a full bore suppression.
