MTS Nutrition Natural Testosterone Booster Review

MTS Nutrition Natural Testosterone Booster Review

First Look:

This looks like a pre-workout to me, I find that testosterone powders are few and far between, we have reviewed the offering from BSN some time ago but I always find powders impractical.

Take a look at our Top 3 boosters for something effective.

Ingredients:

t1

7 ingredients make up a massive 8.2g daily serving, although this is shy of the mega 10g serving from the BSN product.

D-AA, D-Aspartate, DAA – D-aspartic acid is one of two forms of the amino acid aspartic acid. The other form is L-aspartate.

The benefits of D-AA are specific to it, and do not extend to aspartic acid or L-aspartate.

D-AA can be used as a testosterone booster for infertile men, and by athletes as a booster. D-AA works in the central brain region to cause a release of hormones, such as luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and growth hormone.

Fenugreek Seed (Trigonella Foenum-Graecum) – It is claimed by researchers that fenugreek works to increase testosterone or androgen levels, which decrease as you age.

Tongkat Ali – Eurycoma (LongJack) is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent.

However, there is a lack of evidence for testosterone boosting in humans, although some very limited evidence in animals.

Maca Root – This Peruvian strain of ginseng is great for lifting libido and mood, however, when it comes to raising testosterone levels it has no effect at all.

No significant influences on testosterone in any tested demographic I’m afraid.

Safed Musli Extract – There is limited evidence for the claims that this raises testosterone levels but in recent testing, a dose of 500mg for 12 weeks increased semen count significantly, there was a slight raise in testosterone but not by a great deal. Unfortunately this product contains 250mg.

Black Pepper Extract – Black Pepper is a source of piperine, a molecule that does not do much on its own but can inhibit enzymes that would attack other molecules.

Due to this, it is ingested alongside some supplements to increase their absorption rates.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – This is typically used for physical performance and power output but there are very mixed results. 1000-1400mg required daily for any benefits to be had such as fat burning, however, the studies are on elderly people, this is much the same for any lean mass gains.

– Our best & worst testosterone booster ingredients –

Dose:

The dose is one massive scoop of nearly 8g! That is huge!

There are very few testosterone boosters that employ anything other than the use of pills, there’s a fat burner we reviewed that was also an 8g scoop but we find it really inconvenient.

Not only that, it is all well and good having an 8g dose but all at once isn’t particularly optimal.

An even spread throughout the day would be better to ensure you don’t have 1 massive hit and then nothing for another 23 hours.

Effects:

Fortunately there is a big dose of D-Aspartic Acid, and at 3000mg per day this is the most we have seen in one product, D-Aspartic Acid is proven to raise testosterone levels in studies.

It is also good to see Fenugreek too. However, this is realistically where the party stops.

Those 2 ingredients will elevate testosterone levels but it is lacking in all other areas.

Negatives:

Out of the 7, only 2 work. Why would a company do this? It beggars belief.

The problem here is Maca and Longjack have no real testosterone boosting benefits. They should be eliminated. Period.

The black pepper makes sense as that aids the bio-availability of the ingredients.

However, the Safed is 250mg short of an effective dose and the L-Carnitine I feel is included as it can help with performance so it would make the user believe they are are getting stronger, faster etc because of an increase in testosterone levels.

It’s like when you buy cheap honey that consists mainly of sugar rather than the actual honey.

It is worth reiterating that in our top 3 rated testosterone boosters they have around 8 solid ingredients which all have proof backing their usefulness.

Conclusion:

The D-Aspartic Acid is a big hitter in terms of testosterone and for that large dose of 3000mg per day is worth a good score in itself.

But, apart from the Fenugreek it goes down hill from here. An inconvenient means of dosing plus a poor schedule doesn’t help either.

The final nail in the coffin is a competitor, TestoFuel provides 2300mg of D-Aspartic Acid but also 8 other proven testosterone boosting ingredients, as a result it overshadows this product.

This is a bit of a one hit wonder plus it also fakes performance by the use of L-Carnitine which feels dishonest.
