Grenade Thermo Detonator Fat Burner Review

Grenade Thermo Detonator Fat Burner Review

First Look:

You definitely cannot say that this is not attention grabbing. The marketing behind this is great, it really looks the part and translates well in to the idea of product.

In fact Grenade as a brand has developed other products too and it has become a bit of a player in the supplement world, however, I often wonder whether the science behind the marketing has more substance than the actual product itself.

Many marketing success stories have been greater than the product it sells.

A guy at work told me he was using Grenade and he couldn’t stop bigging it up, but I thought he was more concerned about the brand than the effectiveness.

That made me want a closer look.

Ingredients: The Science

untitled

Capsicum – Known to boost metabolism, cayenne causes the body to produce extra heat and burn more calories for fuel.

This is found in our favorite fat burner Instant Knockout.

Bitter Orange (Citrus Aurantium) – At present, Citrus aurantium may be the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra. However, more studies are needed to establish this definitively.

Bitter orange is possibly unsafe when taken as a supplement for a medical purpose such as weight loss.

Bitter orange, particularly when taken with stimulants such as caffeine or caffeine-containing herbs, increases the risk for high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack, stroke, and other severe side effects.
There are reports that bitter orange can trigger headaches, including migraine and cluster headaches, in some people.

Bitter orange can cause sensitivity to the sun. Wear sunblock outside, especially if you are light-skinned.

Green Tea – well known to have many powerful health benefits.

Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.

One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.

Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect.

Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

Green Coffee – Evidence from research has indicated that the consumption of caffeinated coffee can lead to some reductions in long-term weight gain, an effect which is likely to be due to the known thermogenic effects of caffeine intake.

Caffeine – This can assist with endurance, tested athletes saw an edge from caffeine in scientific studies.

In some trials, the stimulant boosted athletes’ speed. In others, it helped them last longer before they spent all their energy.

Caffeine also raises the metabolism which means you burn more calories. Some studies show that it can curb soreness after exercise, too.

This means you could get back to your training sooner and training means more calories burnt. This is present in all 3 of our Top Fat Burners.

Phenylalanine – Studies have shown that this can help with confusion, lack of energy, depression, decreased alertness and memory problems.

Dose:

There is a 4 pills per day recommended dose although we are instructed to take them 2 at a time twice daily.

We prefer 4 pills spread across the day to evenly spread the nutrients out and prevent massive peaks and troughs.

4 pills are the doses of our benchmark products. There’s a 2760mg daily serving here which is not too bad at all.

Pros:

There are 4 and ingredients included that are effective at fighting fat, and found in the best fat burners available.

This is a good sign and they are all proven and effective ingredients along with a healthy dose of them too.

It is also good to note that there is not a proprietary either which would conceal the exact ingredient break down.

Although Phenylalanine isn’t really anything to do with weight loss it can help stimulate energy which is useful if you want to hit the gym after a long day at work when you feel drained of energy.

Cons:

There are two real main negative points with this product.

One is that after reading through the studies of Bitter Orange, it transpires can have unwanted side effects when dosed with caffeine.

The second is the lack of accompanying ingredients, while there are 4 good, solid and effective ingredients, it has omitted a good further 4 which would produce a much more rounded product that would be more effective.

Conclusion:

Okay, this does have substance and depth behind the marketing and I do like it.

However, it doesn’t quite fulfill the role of a full bodied fat burner because it omits too many ingredients such as Zinc, B6, B12 and even Glucomannan as found in the strongest fat burner available.

I am not overly keen on the inclusion of Bitter Orange either due to to potential negative issues it can cause some people. I think it is a bit too much of a gamble for some.
