Magnum Nutraceuticals Acid Isolate CLA Fat Burner Review

Magnum Nutraceuticals Acid Isolate CLA Fat Burner Review

magnum 2

Summer is almost upon us and as I nurse a black-eye and multiple wounds to my legs after rugby this weekend I thought I would answer some of the recent requests to review some more fat burners that are out there on the market, may be it is time to put those chips away to the side and have a little read of this so you can make an informed choice.

First Look

Apart from the overwhelming use of beautiful fitness athletes who are at unattainable levels of shred (without steroids) or Photoshop – I am pretty certain she has also had a boob job so don’t expect your saggy tits to miraculously tighten up either – all looks above board and fairly mainstream. Traditionally supplements such as these were only found in bodybuilding stores, places so unimaginably terrifying even Ronnie Coleman was known to go in ‘two-up’. However, products like this are so mainstream and accepted by both males and females you can get them in Wal-Mart without fear of being forced to rupture your spleen whilst attempting a 800lbs squat. This clearly has an ‘asexual’ appeal which is kind of the opposite of a man trying to buy a bra for himself in Victoria’s Secret. Word of advice, at least pretend it is for your ‘girlfriend’…

There’s very few ingredients present in this and I guess that was a bit of a giveaway with the name. Essentially you have Conjugated Linoleic Acid and nothing else…I made sure the image was of a jumbo size just so you knew I wasn’t lying, plus I have left my glasses downstairs (mere mortal me) so it helps for my writing.

Let’s have a look at this ingredient:

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – Extensive studies have shown that this naturally occurring fatty acid helped a group of women lose 9% body fat within 12 months, the interesting thing about this study was that the group of subjects didn’t even do any exercise for this figure to be reached. One thing to note is that you need a composition of at least 80% for this to be effective and like when you look for a toothpaste always find one with a fluoride content of at least 1400ppm F. This obliterates that composition requirement to provide 85%!

However, the fun sort of stops here. Further studies are quite contradictory…

The way it works is by acting on molecular signalling receptors which induce fat loss. And, whilst initial studies are interesting it does seem that the overall effects are not that potent and overall as a supplement it is lackluster.

Another issue is that it can have some fairly unwanted side effects such as nausea, diarrhea and fatigue. But it doesn’t stop there because it could also worsen insulin resistance and cause a ‘fatty liver’, lower the good cholesterol and worsen inflammation.

But it aint all bad, As an antioxidant, CLA may have cancer-fighting properties. Studies have shown that women who get a lot of CLA from their diets have a lower risk of colorectal cancer; they may also have a lower risk ofbreast cancer.

Dose

Annoyingly the recommended dose is only 1 soft gel per day. We, at Testosterone Junkie much prefer a steady supply of the goodness throughout the day to ensure our body can utilize it effectively. Studies have shown anything up to 6000mg as being ‘effective’, so we’re pretty low with this.

Effects

The confusing results of the studies speak for themselves so it is a bit wishy washy. Yet, unlike any of the other fat burners we have tried that contain CLA this hits and surpasses the magic 80% composition requirement plus there is no proprietary blend to speak of. This could will be effect, but unless you are really on a strict regime of exercise and nutrition do not expect a body like those shown in the marketing bumf.

Negatives

It is hard to knock a product which contains a proven ingredient and nothing but that ingredient, therefore, a bit of constructive criticism is required. Whereby the other CLA products reviewed thus far have failed on their ass this one could be an absolute winner if only it contained other proven ingredients to give it that extra edge. If this was made up of 7 or 8 additional, proven ingredients such as those found in Instant Knockout for example it would not only obliterate the fat cells but also the competition.

Review Conclusion

So we come forth to the conclusion. I think you may guess where this is going..?

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this will pretty much be effective for most people. However, why stop there? Why not produce a product which is in a competitive market to be the absolute best there is? Why the halfheartedness? I find it extremely frustrating. For absolute best results try stacking this with Instant Knockout and in conjunction with a planned and constructive workout regime, notwithstanding a good diet plan you will definitely see results but on its own the real potential hasn’t been reached.
