My Nutrabolics Semtex Fat Burner Review

My Nutrabolics Semtex Fat Burner Review

My Nutrabolics Semtex Fat Burner Review First Look:

I still feel full from my dinner last night. I cooked up a maelstrom of roast beef, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage and mushrooms.

It was so large that I could barely get to sleep because my body as trying to digest it all and this morning I made sure I would cycle in to work to help burn it off.

Even the 9 mile cycle through freezing cold rain didn’t help matters much.

However, yesterday afternoon, I was skiing in one of those indoor slopes with real snow.

I have never skied before and this felt like a real workout. Walking was akin to trying to wade through water and now, my stomach muscles feel tight.

As a result, it felt like a great workout, much more involving that cycling, however, there’s not a great deal of snow around here to ski on.

I have noticed recently, that with my diet and nutrition plan up in the air due to quite a few vacations plus the rigors of work I have lost some of my muscular definition.

This has also been hampered with fewer occasions to actually exercise and my supplement regime being interrupted – this means I won’t feel the full benefit.

I was effectively and consistently using a number of different supplements that were effectively helping me burn more fat while being able to retain muscle, in fact, I was building more muscle and strength!

You may think that this would purely be down to supplements such as test boosters, however, fat burners have their important role, too.

What can a fat burner really do?

You may well be surprised actually.

The idea that an effective fat burner just magically makes your waist smaller is far from the truth.

However, only the effective fat burners contain a number of ingredients in correct doses that work harmoniously and through a number of outcomes help you lose fat mass, not muscle.

Their benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Increase energy – This will help you be more active and stimulate you for effective workouts
  • Thermogenic – These ingredients will increase the temperature of your core which increases calorie expenditure
  • Appetite control – The ability to feel fuller and not to fall for sweet, calorie laden treats

As a result I tend to supplement my exercise regime with a fat burner supplement.

I have found Instant Knockout to offer the best results and as a result I try to use that daily.button-4

Ingredients: The Science

Cocoa Bean Extract (Theobroma)

Studies show that in conjunction with a controlled diet, cocoa bean extract may play a role in body weight management.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3113527/

Bitter Orange (Citrus Aurantium)

At present, Citrus aurantium may be the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra.

However, more studies are needed to establish this definitively.

Bitter orange is possibly unsafe when taken as a supplement for a medical purpose such as weight loss.

Bitter orange, particularly when taken with stimulants such as caffeine or caffeine-containing herbs, increases the risk for high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack, stroke, and other severe side effects.

There are reports that bitter orange can trigger headaches, including migraine and cluster headaches, in some people.

Bitter orange can cause sensitivity to the sun.

Wear sunblock outside, especially if you are light-skinned.

1, 3, 7, 9 Tetramethylpurine (Theacrine / Tetramethyluric acid)

An alkaloid molecule which can be seen as a structurally modified version of caffeine.

However, although it is similar to caffeine whereby it has a sedative effect at relatively low doses, but where this sedative effect with caffeine is at an impractically low dose with theacrine it is the dose normally consumed by tea.

Research on Theacrine is really too sparse though to cast any real assertions.

Capsicum (Cayenne)

Known to boost metabolism, cayenne causes the body to produce extra heat and burn more calories for fuel.

This is found in our favorite fat burner Instant Knockout.

Phenylethylamine hcl

Used for treating depression and increasing athletic performance.

No evidence to substantiate these claims.

Limited supplemental usage due to being rapidly broken down into inactive components.

Caffeine

It stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, muscles, and the centers that control blood pressure to give you an extra boost and hit that PB.

Caffeine Anhydrous is the purest form of caffeine so always look out for it.

This is found in 4 Gauge which is the best pre-workout.

It is also found in Instant Knockout which is the best fat burner available at present.

Dendrobium

Now becoming a popular stimulant found in pre-workout supplements. This is also slowly appearing in fat burner/cutter supplements, too.

However, the effects have not been studied in people so it is all a bit of an unknown and how it may well effect you.

Black Pepper Extract

Black Pepper is a source of piperine, a molecule that does not do much on its own but can inhibit enzymes that would attack other molecules.

Due to this, it is ingested alongside some supplements to increase their absorption rates.

Dose:

Three capsules per day to be taken.

This is not as as other fat burners as we prefer at least 4 pills spread out across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process.

If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.

Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.

What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

The daily dose of 2110mg is not a bad daily amount.

In fact, this dose compares okay when you consider the best fat burners tend to offer in excess of 3000mg.

Pros:

This has a lot of ingredients that are popular among the varying fat burner supplements that we see on the market.

However, there’s only three proven and reliable ingredients that are able to help you burn the excess stubborn areas of fat.

These are

  • Caffeine
  • Cayenne
  • Theobroma

Caffeine along with Cayenne are particularly effective and are found in the best fat burners.

These have an ability to stimulate the central nervous system and are thermogenics.

These will help you expend more calories than you would otherwise – this can really give you that edge you are looking for.

There’s also another ingredients often present in both fat burner supplements and pre workout supplements, Citrus Aurantium.

This is seen, or considered as a substitute for Ephedra, however, all is not safe…

Cons:

If we continue from the last section, we can talk more deeply about Citrus Aurantium.

The issue with this is that it is considered as an alternative to Ephedra as a fat burning supplement, yet this is not 100% verified.

It can also have a bad reaction with other ingredients that contain caffeine such as, erm, caffeine, green tea and theobroma. Two of which are included in this particular supplement.

So, if you react badly to it, Citrus Aurantium can induce high blood pressure which can lead to complications such as headaches, fainting, stroke or heart attack!

It can also cause sun sensitivity, something to be wary of if you are fair skinned.

The problems don’t end there though…

There is the inclusion of Dendrobium which is another stimulant, however, there’s a real lack of research so you are the test subject. Good luck..!

Then there’s Theacrine, now, Theacrine has similar effects to Caffeine which sounds great.

However, the problem with Theacrine is that the doses of equivalent caffeine are impractically low.

Not only that, but the research on Theacrine is not wholly complete or substantial, so again you are the participant of a unregulated research project.

If we move further down the list of ingredients there’s also Phenylethylamine, this is said to increase athletic performance and treat depression, yet there’s no clear cut evidence to add any substance to these claims.

Then it omits a large number of ingredients that should be included in a fat burner such as:

  • B12
  • B6
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Glucomannan
  • Green Coffee
  • Green Tea
  • Chromium

It certainly does not offer the fat burning performance we want nor is available in other fat burning supplements such as Instant Knockout.

My Nutrabolics Semtex Fat Burner Review Conclusion:

This fat burner from Nutrabolix does not offer the same level of effectiveness compared to other fat burner supplements we review.

This is due to the number of ingredients that do not only have very little scientific evidence to confirm that they are effective at helping the user lose fat mass but also being dangerous. We’re looking at you, Citrus Aurantium!

It does tick a couple of boxes with the inclusion of Caffeine, Cayenne and Theobroma but it is outweighed by four ingredients that don’t offer the benefits we are looking for.

It then omits a large number of proven ingredients that would have been a much better proposition.

At just under $40 this is not too expensive, but it doesn’t offer a great deal of value.

Therefore, some other products such as those in our top 3 fat burners are more far more attractive propositions.
