Old School Labs Vintage Boost Wave Testosterone Booster Review

I’m on a quest to find the most effective testosterone booster on the market.

You probably are too.

You may wish to stack on slabs of lean muscle or just help prevent the signs of aging.

Either way, only the best will do and we’ll keep writing about them on here for you so you can make the right choice.

As men age, they often make less testosterone – [https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/understanding-how-testosterone-affects-men]

First look

It looks like a bit too natty; a hipster product like beard oil.

Fancy, retro Soviet style graphics look very much out of place in the muscle building supplement world and more suited to the cover art of an Indie rock band.

However, we shouldn’t always judge a book by its cover even if it is very hard not too and let’s face it, how many of us buy products on image alone?

It’s the sort of thing German auto manufacturers have down to an art.

This does not scream testosterone booster to me.

Who Are Old School Labs?

Old School Labs are from California.

They have lots of the ‘old school’ elite as their ambassadors. Figureheads like Ric Drasin and Tom Platz.

The Old School Labs aim is to provide supplements that differ from the mass marketed, cheaply produced products that are abundant on the shelves.

Our mission is to create uncompromising, premium supplements for informed customers who demand the very best.

Vintage Boost Wave Ingredients: The Science

Whoah! Sweet child of mine, I was not, repeat not expecting this high grade level of ingredients at all!

This product is completely unknown to me and it (a bit like TestoFuel and Prime Male) is about to give the higher profile competitors a bloody nose.

Let’s run through the ingredients:

– D-Aspartic Acid

Research proves that D-Aspartic Acid is a physiological amino acid which releases and synthesizes testosterone in humans.

The benefits of D-AA are specific to it, and do not extend to aspartic acid or L-aspartate. D-AA can be used as a testosterone booster for men, and by athletes.

D-AA works in the central brain region to cause a release of hormones, such as luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and growth hormone.

Importantly, unlike some pro-hormones and steroids, it does not raise estrogen levels.

A dose of 2000-3000mg is required. [1]

– Magnesium

Research into magnesium supplementation also increased testosterone production in men. [2]

– Zinc

Zinc is very important for the functioning of the enzyme, hormone, and immune systems.

In very high doses, zinc can act as an aromatase inhibitor and reduce estrogen levels.

Studies show that these both have a link with healthy testosterone production. [3]

– Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 helps testosterone levels by stimulating androgen (a steroid hormone that acts as a precursor for testosterone) receptors in your body, making your testes produce testosterone.

There’s lots of research available outlining the benefits of B6. [4]

– Maca Root

This Peruvian strain of ginseng is great for lifting libido and mood, however, when it comes to raising testosterone levels it has no effect at all. [5]

– Tribulus Terrestris

One of the most marketed and highly touted testosterone boosters, this supplement has never been proven to be effective in this regard and time after time rears its ugly head.

Tribulus also failed to provide any benefit when tested on a bunch of professional Australian rugby players. [6]

– Prasterone (DHEA)

This is a hormone produced by the body’s adrenal glands. The body uses DHEA to make androgens and estrogens, the male and female sex hormones.

DHEA levels peak at about age 25, then go down steadily as you get older.

By the time people are 70 to 80 years old, their DHEA levels are only 10% to 20% those in young adults.

However, there is little evidence to show that DHEA has any effect on enhancing muscle strength.

In middle-aged men, no statistically significant effect of DHEA supplementation on lean body mass, strength, or testosterone levels was found in a randomized placebo-controlled trial. [7] [8] [9]

– Vitamin D

D3 is a great Testosterone boosting vitamin that must be taken advantage of to trigger further production of Testosterone in your body.

Not only is Vitamin D3 a great testosterone boosting ingredients it is also good for healthy heart function.

A 5 year study by the University of Leeds in the UK found startling improvements in the pumping ability of the patients (suffering heart failure) who were being administered vitamin D3.

It is also good to note that vitamin D3 is more effective than the synthetic D2 which is available and sometimes turns up in some lower grade testosterone boosters.[10]

Vintage Wave Boost Dosage

6 caps per day! A bit excessive as 4 would be optimal, you’re bound to lose track of 6.

A nice 30 day supply though.

We are also provided with over 4000mg! That’s a lot.

This is mainly a solid list of ingredients and fantastic amounts too!

A whopping 3000mg of D-Aspartic Acid will have a great effect.

There’s also plenty of Vitamin B6, Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin D.

I am slightly concerned with the inclusion of Maca, Tribulus and DHEA as these have no proven effect on testosterone levels.

Plus there’s a few ingredients such as oyster, ginseng and fenugreek to name a few that appear to be omitted.

Including these would have helped and taken the product up to the standards set by TestoFuel and Prime Male.

Thankfully there is no proprietary blend to fuck shit up.

It’s hard to pull this product apart too much as it is one of the better testosterone boosters on the market with a great amount of ingredients.

However, as mentioned some other high impact ingredients are missing which would offer a full, well rounded product that would offer greater value.

It is priced a little higherr than Testofuel, and you are getting quite a bit less in terms of ingredients and value.

Plus it contains Vitamin D2, not D3 and it is the latter which is much more effective.

There’s three ingredients that have no benefit to increasing testosterone levels.

While this offers a large dose of over 4000mg, 1000mg consists of DHEA, Maca and Tribulus.

Old School Boost Side Effects

The main issues here lays with Tribulus.

If you are a woman this can upset your menstrual cycle.

If you are pregnant tribulus can affect fetal development.

Wave Boost is not for women.

Vintage Boost Price

$79.99 – a bit steep.

Old School Labs Vintage Wave Boost Review Conclusion

Old School labs have done a great job and have clearly done their research into producing a great T-Booster with high doses.

However, I think their naivety has been illustrated with the inclusion of some unproven ingredients such as Tribulus and Maca plus using Vitamin D2 instead of D3.

Yet this is pipped to the post by TestoFuel.

Vintage Boost Rivals

Let’s see what other best rated natural testosterone booster supplements are pitched against Wave Boost.

Prime Male

prime male bottle

It is hard not to make a good case for Prime Male because it is so effective due to its large number of proven and distinctly well regarded ingredient profile.

Prime Male has been proven to help increase natural testosterone levels and is backed by some great figures from the world of sport and film.

Developed with the older man in mind, it is still useful for all ages, and women.

  • Contains twelve clinically proven ingredients to help stimulate testosterone
  • Contains anti-inflammatory ingredients to help prevent chronic disease
  • Helps control stress levels

  • The dose of D-Aspartic Acid would benefit from being higher
  • It misses out on Fenugreek

testrx bottle

Along with TestoFuel, TestRX contains some higher doses of the ever important yet often overlooked Vitamin D3 and D-Aspartic Acid.

TestRX has also been on the scene for a good number of years, this longevity is a reflection of the powerful ingredients included.

It’s only reason for a lower score is the lower number of ingredients included.

  • High doses of D3 and D-Aspartic Acid
  • Includes Fenugreek which stimulates test levels and cuts fat
  • Well established product standing the test of time

  • Fewer number of total ingredients included per dose
  • Omits a couple important ingredients such as Boron

testofuel bottle

How can we not mention a number of rival natural testosterone boosters without including the No.1 TestoFuel?

TestoFuel has long been the highest rated test booster due to the collection of proven ingredients with the correct dosage to have the best effects.

This is has been my first choice for over three years now and I couldn’t feel better without it.

See what you could be missing out on.

  • Contains nine scientifically proven ingredients to help stimulate testosterone
  • Strong doses of Vitamin D3 and D-Aspartic Acid
  • Fenugreek has dual benefits

  • Only available by direct online order from the manufacturer
  • I wish it contained Boron
