Performix ISO SYM Fat Burner Review

Performix ISO SYM Fat Burner Review

First Look:

This looks very technical and scientific research backed.

It all looks of a high quality with its nicely shaped tub and color scheme.

There appears to be many studies and details of patents on the package to instill confidence in the buyer.

Admittedly this does draw your attention and it is likely that you would buy this over a product that does nothing but say ‘fat burner’ on the side with some shit logo and images.

This looks responsible, effective and researched. But, looks can be deceiving…

Ingredients: The Research

untitled

Sodium – There are mechanisms in place for sodium bicarbonate to be a fat-burning agent (it increases ketone production and lipolysis and causes a minor increase in metabolic rate), but these have not yet been linked to actual weight loss in trials.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – This is typically used for physical performance and power output but there are very mixed results.

1000-1400mg required daily for any benefits to be had such as fat burning, however, the studies are on elderly people, this is much the same for any lean mass gains.

Branch Chain Amino Acids – BCAAs (typically a combination of  L-Leucine, L-IsoLeucine and L-Valine) play a critical role in muscle development because they are metabolized in the muscle rather than the liver.

Because BCAAs are metabolized in the muscle, they can be used for building new proteins or for energy. However, Supplementation is not necessary if you eat eggs and meat regularly.

Safflower Extract  Possibly effective for lowering cholesterol but there’s very little evidence to substantiate any other claims.

Dose:

1 scoop which amounts to a huge 8700mg per day.

However, we prefer the convenience of pills and we prefer have 4 pills spread across the day to evenly spread the nutrients out and prevent massive peaks and troughs.

4 pills are the doses of our benchmark products.

Pros:

There are 4 ingredients present, yet the evidence for their effectiveness is not that conclusive.

Sure, BCAAs are great to muscle development and are found in many supplements, however, a diet rich in eggs and meat will provide all you need.

Safflower doesn’t seem to do much, Sodium looks positive but no real proof has been found of it’s weight loss abilities and L-Carnitine offers mixed results and will only really offer any benefit if supplemented over 100mg per day.

No this is a proprietary blend so I am hoping that from the 8700mg per day there is at least 1000mg of L-Carnitine – but we cannot be certain.

Cons:

This is a proprietary blend for a start, this means we don’t really know how much of each ingredient we are getting.

I am not liking this sudden trend to dose this through a scoop – come on just give me convenient pills!

Then we have 4 ingredients, one is great for muscle building but the rest have no real hard body of evidence proving they work…that is a bad sign, especially as there are products on the market offering proven studies behind their content.

This really is missing a plethora or well known and proven ingredients such as Zinc, Green Tea, Caffeine,  Cayenne and even Glucomannan as found in the strongest fat burner available.

Conclusion:

It just ain’t offering anything conclusive, well researched or guaranteed.

Why would we buy something that might work?

We wouldn’t, so why would we chance it with a supplement? Especially at the prices charged by these companies.

This offers a lot in terms of weight/mass but very little in terms of solid effectiveness.
