eFlow Nutrition Elixer PM Fat Burner Review

eFlow Nutrition Elixer PM Fat Burner Review

my bite2

First Look:

A knights helmet? A wolf? Is this some sort of weird board game or character game for grown up men who sit in their basement with their buddies drinking a bud? No, it is a fat burner that is also a sleep aid. This may sound counter intuitive because many fat burners include caffeine which is a stimulant and great for reducing fat. So will this help us sleep? Will it burn fat?

I don’t know yet because I am writing the interlude, however, I have just some weights and I don’t think I will need any sleeping aid tonight…I am shattered.

Vitamin B6 – Using it in its most natural form, pyridoxine, B6 is an essential nutrient to raising the body’s metabolism and aiding the fat burning process.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate – This is typically used for physical performance and power output but there are very mixed results. 1000-1400mg required daily for any benefits to be had such as fat burning, however, the studies are on elderly people, this is much the same for any lean mass gains.

L-Tyrosine – Tyrosine is taken for depression, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the inability to stay awake (narcolepsy), and improving alertness following sleep deprivation. It is also used for stress, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).

Gamma Aminobutyric Acid – GABA is used under the tongue for increasing the sense of well-being, relieving injuries, improving exercise tolerance, decreasing body fat, and increasing lean body weight. However, there is not enough evidence to proof that it can fulfill these claims.

Melatonin which is usually produced in response to low light levels, causing one to feel sleepy. More sleep means more muscle growth and development.

L-Dopa Velvet Bean (Macuna Pruriens) – This is actually good for treating people with Parkinsons. There’s a mixed bag of results for testosterone but look mainly positive. Results have shown an increase in testosterone levels in infertile men, however, results are very limited for fertile men. It is effective to reduce cortisol levels – high stress levels can harm testosterone production.

Griffonia Simplicifolia (5-HTP) – This chemical increases the synthesis of serotonin which helps against insomnia, binge eating and helps with your mood and well being. Anyone who is or used to go clubbing to house music will know a thing or two about serotonin!

http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-794-5-htp.aspx?activeingredientid=794&activeingredientname=5-htp

L-Arginine – This is found in many pre workout supplements or products designed to make you more vascular. L-Arginine opens up the blood vessels and arteries to assist with blood flow, nothing really to do with testosterone but may assist with any impotency issues that are not helping you attain that hot chick in the gym who is 15 years your junior. However, you will require 5g per day alone!

Dose:

Use to 2 scoops which amounts to a fairly large 4024mg per day. However, we prefer the convenience of pills and we prefer have 4 pills spread across the day to evenly spread the nutrients out and prevent massive peaks and troughs. 4 pills are the doses of our benchmark products.

Effects:

Hmmmm this is a bit contradictory. In one case you have ingredients that help with sleep such as 5-HTP and Melatonin and in the same breath (or dose) you have L-Tyrosine which helps fight narcolepsy!

You also have GABA which claims to burn fat but these claims are unsubstantiated, L-Carnitine, again to burn fat but it is around 900mg less than required here to be effective.

B6 on the other hand works..!

Negatives:

This is a proprietary blend for a start, this means we don’t really know how much of each ingredient we are getting.

I am not liking this sudden trend to dose this through a scoop – come on just give me convenient pills!

So, from the 8 ingredients, one is proven to help burn fat, then we have 2 ingredients to help you sleep and recover but with the one ingredient fighting these two to keep you awake! This sounds like a royal head fuck.

This really is missing a plethora or well known and proven ingredients such as Zinc, Green Tea, Caffeine,  Cayenne and even Glucomannan as found in the strongest fat burner available, however, Caffeine and Green Tea would not help you sleep but I guess the L-Tyrosine found in this doesn’t wither.

Conclusion:

This really is not optimal at:

  1. Fat burning – due to the lack of effective ingredients
  2. Helping you sleep due to to L-Tyrosine which wants to keep you awake

These 2 issues plus the inconvenient scooping/powder dose, ill thought out dosing schedule plus the proprietary blend will ensure I do not buy this nor use it ever again.

0/5
