My Havasu Premium Fat Burner Extra Strength Review First Look

Summer is here.

How are you feeling? Hit the gym enough recently and happy with your appearance?

Or are you just fed up with feeling everything jiggle as you walk up a flight of stairs?

It could be that the higher your BMI, the higher your insurance premium, so you just want to lose some fat.

Or, like myself, I just want to be happy in myself with my fitness and health.

So, if you have a goal to lose some fat you may be looking in to using a fat burner.

As we know, fat cannot be spot reduced or targeted without surgery, so we have to work hard to ensure all areas are hit.

This means gym work in combination with cardio and a good diet that allows more calories to be used for energy than taken in from food and drink.

This is exactly where an effective fat burner can help.

Fat burners can give you that edge whereby you burn the extra calories required which help toward creating that deficit which can lead to fat loss.

These are especially useful if you cannot continuously commit to a really good and consistent cardio regime such as myself due to other commitments on occasion.

The fat burner from HAVASU says it is and extra strength, so I am hoping that the included ingredients are going to pack a punch.

What can a fat burner really do?

You may well be surprised actually.

The idea that an effective fat burner just magically makes your waist smaller is far from the truth.

However, only the effective fat burners contain a number of ingredients in correct doses that work harmoniously and through a number of outcomes help you lose fat mass, not muscle.

Their benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Increase energy – This will help you be more active and stimulate you for effective workouts
  • Thermogenic – These ingredients will increase the temperature of your core which increases calorie expenditure
  • Appetite control – The ability to feel fuller and not to fall for sweet, calorie laden treats

As a result I tend to supplement my exercise regime with a fat burner supplement.

I have found Instant Knockout to offer the best results and as a result I try to use that daily.

Ingredients: The Science

Vitamin B6

Using it in its most natural form, pyridoxine, B6 is an essential nutrient to raising the body’s metabolism and aiding the fat burning process.

It also contributes to the reduction of fatigue and if you are not getting enough B6 you can suffer from cognitive decline as well as depression.

B6 also contributes to normal and healthy hormone levels.

Garcinia Cambogia

Supposedly helps people lose weight, however, trials have been unsubstantiated or at least unimpressive.

Any tests run where there has been a glimmer of hope have been in stage 1 obese people.

Calcium

Results show that training results in increased testosterone levels in athletes and that the increase is greater if accompanied by calcium supplementation.

However, calcium supplements are also known to increase artery plaque which in the long term can cause cardiovascular problems.

Read more about that, here.

However, with supplements such as this, there is little chance they will be used constantly and consistently day after day.

Apple Cider Vinegar

A study in Japan showed that obese people who took apple cider vinegar daily for 12 weeks lost a small amount of weight.

Once they stopped taking it the weight did return though.

Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLA)

Initial reports and studies have showed that CLA helped a bunch of women who did no exercise lose 9% of their body fat.

However, further studies are showing very mixed, if not medicore results that aren’t really setting the world alight, in fact the side effects are having their presence felt moreso outweighing any real benefits.

Any benefits that were found meant that the composition had to be greater than 80%.

Phaseolus Vulgaris (White Kidney Bean)

Analysis revealed a statistically non-significant difference in weight loss between P. vulgaris and placebo groups.

It doesn’t work.

Green Tea

A well known to have many powerful health benefits. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.

One study found that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in people who were overweight and moderately obese.

Some researchers think that substances in green tea known as catechins are responsible for the herb’s fat-burning effect. Green tea extract is found in many a good fat burning supplement.

How to take this fat burner

Two pills daily

It is good to spread out the dose across the course of the day to ensure our body has a constant supply of ingredients to process rather than peaks and troughs.

If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.

Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.

What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

This results in a daily dose of just over 1095mg which is not particularly high and not competitive.

Pros

Okay, this is said to be extra strength. A look over the ingredients may suggest otherwise, if I am being honest…

Calcium is actually a good hormone regulator. It helps increase testosterone levels and higher levels of testosterone helps you cut fat.

Green Tea is a popular ingredient that is often found in fat burners because it is scientifically proven to help fat loss.

B6 is a really good ingredient to have included. It helps increase the metabolism which helps burn more fat.

B6 is also able to fight fatigue, depression and encourage hormone balances.

Garcinia doesn’t have much impressive proven evidence that it can reduce fat. That said, there is a small chance it may help those who are stage 1 obese.

Apple Cider Vinegar has been shown to help obese people lose a small amount of weight over a period of three months.

CLA is another ingredient here that does offer some documented weight loss benefit.

However, the final three ingredients are not without speculation…

Cons

This is not really ‘extra strength’ at all.

In fact, there are some slightly controversial and hardly ‘concrete’ ingredients.

Read on to see what I mean…

Calcium supplementation may actually cause potential cardiovascular harm over the long term as it can line the arteries with plaque which them can place more pressure on the heart when trying to pump blood around the body to the organs and muscles.

CLA did show some very promising results in early tests, however, they have never been replicated leaving CLA in doubt.

Apple Cider Vinegar only really seems to help someone lose weight when they are continually supplementing with it.

However, once they stopped using it the weight returned.

This would suggest the weight lost was water weight, not fat.

Garcinia may help stage 1 obese people, but it may not, mainly not.

White Button Mushroom just doesn’t work to help you lose weight. Period.

To say it is extra strength means that surely there are strong doses included.

Yet the daily dose is low and even the amount of Green Tea is about the half amount found in the best fat burner, Instant Knockout.

What Improvements Could Be Made?

There’s only one ingredient that categorically does not help to lose weight in one way or another.

Although there are three ingredients that do not offer consistent and reliable performance included.

Whereas, thee are a large number of alternative ingredients that could have been introduced.

We must also make you aware that regular and consistent Calcium use also needs to be taken with caution.

This daily dose could also be made larger.

Therefore, it could have offered much better fat burning performance if it had included the following:

  • Glucomannan
  • D3
  • B12
  • Green Coffee
  • Caffeine
  • Vit. C
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Chromium
  • Fenugreek
  • Synephrine

Without any of these, this will not have the maximum effect on fat loss.

My Havasu Premium Fat Burner Extra Strength Review Conclusion

This fat burner from Havasu leaves us in a bit of a quandary because it only really contains one ingredient where we can say that it doesn’t work in the fight against fat.

Of the additional seven ingredients there are three that offer wishy washy and not entirely great or conclusive performance. But they could also work.

That does mean that only four of the eight ingredients do actually offer conclusive benefits when looking to burn fat.

So, this is only 50% truly effective which is not the great ‘extra strength’ I was hoping for or we were promised.

There’s just too many ‘maybe’s’ about this.

It may help, it may do this.

When what we want are proven ingredients that will help burn extra calories to hit that calorie deficit to lose fat mass, not water weight.

Anything else worth adding to this review..?

This lacks the full plethora of proven ingredients that are rated highly for fat loss.

    1. Hi Donna,

I don’t sell any of these products, I merely review them based on evidence from studies and personal experience.

However, I certainly agree that a person as young as 12 and under the age of 21 should not and doesn’t need to take a supplement such as a fat burner.
