Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster Review

Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster Review

There are 8 ingredients and there isn’t  a proprietary blend, so initially it all looks positive.

First Look

Will Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster hit the mark?

This looks exactly the same as their other product from the same brand, the only difference is a slight color and tone change for the band that wraps the bottle.

But, by all intents and purposes, it is the same.

However, what really counts is what’s inside rather than on the package.

That said, this does feature highly on the most wished for products on Amazon, so either the people are right, or they are…not right.

However, like American Crew hair products, it can be easy to pick the wrong product from their range and this is no different.

Who are Nugenix?

If I am honest, I just don’t know.

There’s very little about the company or the people behind Nugenix online.

All I could find was an address located in Utah, USA. And a PO Box address in Canada.

This always rings a few alarm bells to me.

Why do they not want us to know their ethos and reasons for producing supplements?

Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Ingredients: The Science

nugenix ultimate testosterone ingredients panel

– D-Aspartic Acid (DAA)

D-AA has demonstrated that it has an ability to help improve testosterone levels and also fertility in men.

It may also build up in the testicles, where it alleviates a rate-limiting step of Testosterone synthesis, which leads to a minor testosterone increase. [1]

– Boron

Boron has a number of benefits, one of which is helping contribute to lowering inflammation levels, furthermore it can reduce estrogen, a female sex hormone.

As a result, evidence states that boron helps raise testosterone levels. [2]

– Fenugreek

Studies have demonstrated that Fenugreek can contribute to increased levels of testosterone production and cut fat. [3]

– Macuna Pruriens

This bean is high in protein as well as having a high level of medicinal importance.

However, in regards of testosterone, there is evidence that mucuna can increase testosterone for men who are both fertile and infertile.

It’s often thought that the L-DOPA which is a constituent of mucuna can reduce prolactin levels.

Prolactin actually suppresses testosterone. By reducing that function, testosterone can be secreted.

It is effective to reduce cortisol levels – high stress levels can harm testosterone production. [4]

– Tongkat Ali

Eurycoma (LongJack) is best as a nutrient that can lower cortisol, in turn that can help readdress any hormone imbalance.

In addition, it has demonstrated that it can help improve fertility in men who are suffering from infertility. [5]

– Maca

It is reported that maca can have a positive effect on libido.

There is a theory that because maca is an exported good from Peru that the studies which originate from there may be slightly skewed to maintain sales.

However, it must be noted that maca doesn’t have influence hormone levels.

You can read more about this and other ingredients that do not work here. [6]

– Nettle Root

Nettle is good to reduce inflammation and reduce aromatase which would inhibit testosterone production and secretion . [7]

– Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium Grandiflourm)

The suspected active component of horny goat weed, appears to act as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, similar to some drugs used for erectile dysfunction.

It does not, however, stimulate testosterone production. [8]

How to take Nugenix Ultimate

4 pills per day – this amounts to whopping 5420mg– this is pretty darn good.

4 pills per day are ideal as well, although it is recommended that they are taken throughout the day rather than all at once as directed with this testosterone booster.

If you get too much of certain ingredients, that what the body doesn’t need at the time will be wasted and you will not feel the benefit.

Therefore, if you have a massive dose of Magnesium for instance yet your body is still processing and utilizing Magnesium from a meal you’ve recently had it will only use what is required.

What the body doesn’t require at the time will let it pass. Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

Nugenix Ultimate Price

This is not cheap, at $89.99 per bottle it falls firmly within the premium camp.

At that level, it is pricing itself outside of a lot of the competition that perform just as well, if not better.

Pros

This is very positive.

Unlike its brethren, this does not have a proprietary blend which means we know exactly how that monstrous 5420mg is divided.

There is a great serving of 3000mg of D-Aspartic Acid which is found in our top 3 products and this is a very effective ingredient.

In addition this is bolstered by the Fenugreek and Mucuna.

The Boron will help with inflammation.

Cons

As great as the aforementioned ingredients are, this product is then let down by a further 4 that do not do anything that is scientifically proven in humans to booster testosterone levels.

These 4 ingredients amount to 1460mg which reduces the active ingredients to 3960mg which is still a great amount compared to most of its contemporaries.

However, that does mean there are only 4 active beneficial ingredients here whereas the good competition has around 8 or 9 proven ingredients

And, it is those missing ingredients that are also so vital.

Items like D3, K2, B6, B12, Zinc and Magnesium are all required to stimulate and maintain high levels of testosterone and this product does not have them.

This is a very expensive suppement.

Nugenix Ultimate Side Effects

There’s a couple of pointers that we would like to make you aware of…

Maca can act like estrogen (why on earth is it in a test booster?!), as such if you have a hormone sensitive conditions do not use a supplement containing Maca.

Horny Goat Weed has its fair share of problems, too.

It should not be used if you have a hormone sensitive condition, and it can increase estrogen in women.

Horny Goat Weed may also decrease blood pressure which could cause fainting.

Long term supplementation has shown signs of dizziness, vomiting, increased thirst and cause  nosebleeds.

Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Review Conclusion

While this ticks a few, and I mean a few, of the key ingredients along with a healthy dose, it does also miss so many other vital ingredients.

With these few missing ingredients, it is not performing as good as the other test boosters on the market.

However, as it is, it merely offers a very good start to something that could become great but it is just too far away as it is and as a result it does not make it in to our top 3 list.

This product needs to incorporate the already mentioned D3, Magnesium, K2, Zinc, B6 and B12.

At the same time it would be useful to take out Maca and Horny Goat Weed which can both act like estrogen.
