Anavar Or Epistane? // Compared // Which Is Best?
It is the age-old question and can be found on many forums as people look to do their first cycle of steroids.
Epistane (2a, 3a-epithio-17a-methyl-5a-andrstan-17b-ol) is classed as a Prohormone and Anavar (Oxandrolone) is an anabolic steroid, as such the legalities for both are different.
In the U.K at least Prohormones are available online and in some stores as a legal supplement, whereby Anavar falls into the grey area of legal to use but not legal to supply.
Both are essentially steroids with androgenic effects.
Therefore, to purchase the Anavar, I bought* it online through a store and instead of the usual checkout process I was instructed to make a bank transfer, add a healthy dose of good faith and then waited approximately 1 day until it arrived. Job done.
I had, however, ordered a different manufacturer of the Anavar to the one that arrived, not one to make too much of a fuss about this I opened up the bag to see 1 months supply of yellow tablets each containing 50mg of Anavar.
This was based on a dose of 100mg per day.
The Epistane is bought as easily as protein, there are just fewer sites selling it, but this is hardly The Silk Road, type in prohormones and they are there in abundance.
The package of Anavar cost £70/$91, this is opposed to the Epistane which costs about £30/$39 – so quite a big difference.
Let’s face it, both are easy to obtain – no need to meet a friend of a friend in a gym car park or down a dark alley.
I could go to the lengths of explaining the full chemical breakdown of each, but I am not going to, there’s plenty of that online already.
No, I just want to give you my honest experience of using both and what I feel works best.
There’s chat all over forums but this could be littered with armchair warriors, trolls, the high and mighty, moral critics…whatever, but I never find them to be the most helpful. If anything it can become downright confusing.
I want to try and clear the fog a little based on actual use and real-world results.
It may help you make a decision but always be sure of the legalities of your decision depending on your location.
I have never injected steroids or drugs or anything for that matter unless a doctor has done so, people rave about the ‘safety’ and health benefits of injectables over orals.
I get it, methylated oral steroids are going to give your liver a bit of a hammering and you should use cycle support like Liv.52 or maybe even milk thistle, however, I am not convinced of the effectiveness of the latter.
Either way, I haven’t used one.
But I digress, injectables are just a bit too ‘Trainspotting’ to me.
Growing up in the ’80’s but being more aware of the world in the ’90’s it seemed to be the age of the heroin addict, as a result, the thought of injecting anything just harks memories of grim films about the dirty drug addicts being the byproduct of urban decay in post-industrial Britain.
As a result, I ain’t touching that shit.
I had found Epistane in the past to be a powerful (although not insane) anabolic.
You can read more about my experience here.
Needless to say, it was a good compound that worked well for me although it wasn’t without its drawbacks, injury being one of them.
I had read that Anavar was more of a cutting compound and popular with female lifters due to the very little side effects.
When received, I took them with gusto, 2 tablets a day which equates to 100mg.
However, did it really work? Did I see or feel much difference? To be blunt, no.
It reminded me of other compounds I had taken, Episterone and Ostarine.
Both were either a prohormone or a S.A.R.M but neither seemed to work for me even after reading good reviews.
I cannot tell you much about Tren as the headaches were bad from almost immediately the day after taking it for the first time so I stopped about a week in.
With Epistane, after paying rugby I could walk properly about 2 days after the game, this is good going, bearing in mind I am now 32, it can usually take up until Thursday to feel normal.
With Anavar there seemed to be no recovery benefits other than when not on a cycle.
With Epistane I could feel a change in the body, this is what is known as ‘shutting down’, yes, that is your testicles realizing they don’t need to produce anything because you have a massive synthetic excess.
You can actually feel the change happening, nothing unpleasant but you know something is happening.
Again, nothing with Anavar. Not a single change was experienced.
Did I feel any stronger? Or Did I feel or look any bigger than otherwise gained through ‘natty’ means, hmm, difficult to judge?
I did bench a PB of 418lbs on the leverage bench press, however, again I think that could have been achieved as a ‘natty’.
One thing else to note, and this may seem stupid, however, I have been drinking alcohol on both.
In fact, I have drunk alcohol on the Prohormones, S.A.R.M.S, Anavar and I was sick the next day on everything I was using except the Epistane.
I think it is important to note that it is very unlike me to puke up after drinking alcohol.
As with any oral steroid be it a prohormone or not, your water intake should be raised to include at least 2 liters per day.
I noticed that my urine would always be darker with Epistane compared to Anavar, I am not talking orange or dark yellow but just more yellow than the clearer offering from Anavar.
Anavar just did not deliver for me.
Not only is it expensive, a bit more of a pain in the ass to buy (but not much really just a bit more faith is required), I couldn’t see or feel any real, tangible benefits.
Not compared to using Epistane anyway.
As with Epistane I will be running Military Muscle as my PCT and will continue to do so with my day to day lifting.
So for me, my advice to you drawn from my experiences and if you are unsure what to use, the best oral I have used so far is Epistane without a shadow of a doubt.
The strength, size and cutting gains are like nothing else from an oral steroid that I have tried.
Again, to reiterate, just be sure what the legal status is of anything you are looking to buy and use in your area.
