Prometheus Wellness Pro T Testosterone Booster Review

Prometheus Wellness Pro T Testosterone Booster Review

My Prometheus Wellness Pro T Testosterone Booster Review First Look

With its bright red bottle and name of ‘PRO T’ there is no mistaking this for anything else but a testosterone booster.

Prometheus Labs sounds like something from Greek mythology.

And, it is.

Prometheus champions mankind, and in Greek mythology he helped with the progress of civilisation.

Prometheus means ‘TITAN’.

A very apt name for a testosterone booster. As all men want to look and feel like a titan.

And, recently I have been feeling quite the opposite of a titan.

My lifestyle has been inconsistent. This includes everything:

  • Diet
  • Training
  • Recovery and sleep

It is no secret that when guys age they start to feel more lethargic and lose an interest in physical activity, and low testosterone is the culprit.

This can lead to unwanted fat gains and a loss of muscle.

Other issues men face when they start to age is a loss of libido or erectile dysfunction. This can lead to depression.

However, this is completely natural. Many guys notice these effects from as early as thirty.

As men age, they often make less testosterone – [https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/understanding-how-testosterone-affects-men]

However, it does not have to be like this…

Well formulated test boosters can elevate testosterone levels.

A lack of testosterone can create a whole number of health issues, not just screwing up your bench press.

The key to more muscle, better sexual function and overall health is more testosterone.

But modern research shows us that testosterone is beneficial for more than just muscle building.

It is important that men actually maintain a high and healthy level of testosterone.

See the top 3 testosterone boosters for improving health here

That is because men suffer from the male version of the menopause, it is called the andropause.

The menopause effects women differently to men.

Changes relating to Andropause happen over a much longer period of time. This makes it almost unnoticeable

That is not to say the effects are not as dire…

A reduction in testosterone can lead to the following problems:

  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Loss of strength
  • Increased risk of osteoporosis
  • A change in mood and outlook on life
  • Irritability
  • Increase of fat mass
  • Reduced energy levels
  • Loss of libido

That means your health and fitness levels can suffer.

Thus, it is key you keep your natural testosterone at a healthy and optimal level.

Do not think natural test boosters are for bodybuilders and gym freaks, men of all ages can benefit.

However, if you are still looking to pack on slabs of lean muscle mass, the safe route is with a proven test booster supplement.

Can Pro T hit the mark? Let’s look at their background…

What’s the science behind natural testosterone boosters?

There are many ingredients available with scientific studies proving they can stimulate testosterone.

These ingredients are not synthetic, either…

We are talking about vitamins such as Vitamin C or Vitamin D.

Mineral such as Magnesium and Zinc have proof that they produce more testosterone.

Studies show that if you lack these minerals your testosterone will be low.

An effective testosterone booster contains a variety of natural and proven ingredients.

This combination of ingredients will stimulate testosterone production.

When you look for a testosterone booster make sure of the below points.

  • No proprietary blends
  • Adequate doses
  • All natural ingredients

Pro T Ingredients: The Science

So, let’s list through each ingredient and look at the associated studies:

– Zinc

A 2006 study examined the testosterone levels of elite athletes (wrestlers) who had supplemented with a daily supplemental dose of zinc for one month.

They had significantly higher testosterone (and thyroid) levels, compared to a placebo group who saw a reduction in free testosterone.

– Vitamin D

D3 is a great Testosterone boosting vitamin that must be taken advantage of to trigger further production of Testosterone in your body.

Not only is Vitamin D3 a great testosterone boosting ingredients it is also good for healthy heart function.

A 5 year study by the University of Leeds in the UK found startling improvements in the pumping ability of the patients (suffering heart failure) who were being administered vitamin D3.

It is also good to note that vitamin D3 is more effective that the synthetic D2 which is available and sometimes turns up in some lower grade testosterone boosters.

Research by the US Library of Medicine has shown that testosterone productions are increased with Vitamin D3 supplementation.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3712348/

There’s a plenty of articles I have written covering the benefits of D3 you can read about, herehere and here.

– Tribulus Terrestris

The many tests on Tribulus have found no increases in testosterone levels.

It has failed to increase natural testosterone levels. Research shows that it does not increase physical performance.

Here’s three studies to review.

[Antonio J, et al. The effects of Tribulus terrestris on body composition and exercise performance in resistance-trained males. Int J Sport Nutr Exerc Metab. (2000)]

[Rogerson S, et al. The effect of five weeks of Tribulus terrestris supplementation on muscle strength and body composition during preseason training in elite rugby league players. J Strength Cond Res. (2007)]

[Neychev VK, Mitev VI. The aphrodisiac herb Tribulus terrestris does not influence the androgen production in young men. J Ethnopharmacol. (2005)]

– DIM (Diindolylmethane)

Diindolylmethane appears to promote a healthy balance of testosterone in the body and is found in vegetables such as broccoli.

Cruciferous vegetables which contain high levels of DIM such as broccoli are eaten by many professional athletes such as rugby league players for their benefits.

– Niacin (B3)

Unlike some vitamins, Niacin doesn’t have a long list of benefits and advantages.

However, it does help release the energy your body needs from foods as well as keeping your skin and hair healthy.

Remember, the skin is your largest organ, so it pays to keep it in good health.

– Eurycoma Longifolia (Longjack)

There are some claims that Longjack will increase testosterone levels.

Yet, there is very little evidence surrounding the claims.

There’s no human studies available proving Longjack is effective when taken orally.

[Bhat R, Karim AA. Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia Jack): a review on its ethnobotany and pharmacological importance. Fitoterapia. (2010)]

– Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium)

The theory is that Horny Goat Weed can increase testosterone levels.

In reality there isn’t any available evidence proving that it does increase testosterone.

[Zhang ZB, Yang QT. The testosterone mimetic properties of icariin. Asian J Androl. (2006)]

– Maca

Studies confirm that Maca does not increase testosterone levels.

[Gonzales GF, et al. Effect of Lepidium meyenii (MACA) on sexual desire and its absent relationship with serum testosterone levels in adult healthy men.Andrologia. (2002)]

– BioPerine/Piper Nigrum

The extract of piperine, called BioPerine®  in the patented form, has been clinically tested in the United States.

BioPerine®  significantly enhances the bioavailability of various supplement nutrients through increased absorption.

– Boron

In doses of around 6mg Boron increases testosterone and also decrease inflammation.

[Ferrando AA, Green NR. The effect of boron supplementation on lean body mass, plasma testosterone levels, and strength in male bodybuilders. Int J Sport Nutr. (1993)]

– Fenugreek

Found in curries which taste great, however, food aside, Fenugreek is good for natural testosterone production.

Further research also shows that fenugreek seed extract is able to reduce the daily fat intake in overweight males if taken orally at a dose of 392mg three times daily for two to six weeks.

So, to include Fenugreek in your supplement allowance is advised.

http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-733-FENUGREEK.aspx?activeIngredientId=733&activeIngredientName=FENUGREEK

– Ashwagandha

Primarily found in test boosters because of its supposed benefits.

There is little evidence suggesting that Ashwagandha will increase testosterone levels.

Ashwagandha is able to reduce stress and fatigue which can have a negative effect on testicular health.

An effective dose is around 6g per day.

[Ahmad MK, et al. Withania somnifera improves semen quality by regulating reproductive hormone levels and oxidative stress in seminal plasma of infertile males. Fertil Steril. (2010)]

 Pro T Directions

This recommends that we take three tablets daily.

In one dose of three.

It is better to spread the dose out over the course of the day.

This ensures our body has a constant supply of nutrients to work with.

This will prevent peaks and troughs.

If you supply your body with lots of the same nutrients at once it will pass what is not required.

Thus, a higher chance of waste and less benefits.

It is better to have a continued trickle effect.

This results in a daily dose of just over 1935mg.

This is up there with the best test boosters.

Pros

On paper this doesn’t look too bad…

This testosterone booster from Prometheus Wellness consists of some effective ingredients to stimulate testosterone production.

You cannot argue with the combination of:

  • Vitamin D3
  • Fenugreek
  • Zinc
  • DIM
  • Boron

Nearly all of these ingredients are found in effective testosterone boosters such as TestoFuel.

It is reassuring to see that DIM is included too.

DIM helps regulate estrogen levels, and to stop them getting out of hand.

This is why so many athletes each broccoli because it contains DIM.

Boron acts as a good anti-inflammatory and can contribute to increasing test levels.

Ashwagandha is showing some interesting and potentially viable results that it increases test levels.

Cons

The daily dose is quite low compared to other products.

Plus from the total of twelve ingredients, four of them are not proven to be effective at stimulating testosterone.

  • Tribulus is not confirmed to help benefit test levels at all. Thorough testing has proven that it does not increase testosterone production.
  • Maca is not a proven test booster ingredient. In fact it may display estrogen effects.
  • Tongkat has no studies confirming its effectiveness.
  • Horny Goat Weed is lacking scientific proof that it will increase test levels.

This is such a new product that there are no other user reviews at the moment for comparison and too see if anyone has experienced any unwanted side effects.

However, let’s look through what scientific studies are warning us of…

Unwanted Pro T Side Effects

How will the PRO -T testosterone booster react with people according to the studies?

This supplement is mainly safe to use. There’s some issues though regarding side effects.

  • Tribulus is making a name for itself…

If you are on certain medication to control blood pressure please do not take this supplement.

Lab tests on animals link tribulus to problems in fetal development. So stay away from tribulus if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Women may also have period problems.

Also, men should be aware that there are some concerns about possible links between tribulus and prostate problems.

Both men and women may have problems sleeping with products containing tribulus.

  • Maca may act like an estrogen!

Pro T Video Review

What Improvements Could Be Made to Pro T?

This test booster needs further development.

PRO T provides a few ingredients that should not be in this product such as Horny Goat Weed and Tongkat Ali.

Tribulus is not entirely safe and considering this is supposed to lower estrogen levels it includes Maca which may act like estrogen!

This testosterone booster supplement also omits a number obvious safe and proven ingredients that should be included.

Look at the ingredients listed below which would be of benefit:

  • B12
  • Vit. C
  • B6
  • Oyster
  • Creatine
  • K2
  • D-Aspartic Acid

Some of these proven ingredients are included in the best testosterone boosters such as TestoFuel.

My Prometheus Wellness Pro T Testosterone Booster Review Conclusion

This does not entirely fulfil its claims.

What is sticks out the most to me is that it states it will balance hormones and block estrogen.

Yet while there is DIM, Maca could work against it.

There’s also a clear lack of research considering four ingredients have been included which have no testosterone or weight loss benefit.

This low level of research is why PRO T includes ingredients that could potentially be unsafe and increase estrogen.

It also would perform better if obvious ingredients were included such as Magnesium and Vitamin B6.

This results in a test booster which is mediocre in its performance.

Any final words for this review..?

Some of the ingredients should be removed.

Thus, you should check out the better options, here.

Pro T Rivals

Let’s see what other best rated natural testosterone booster supplements are pitched against Testocrine.

Prime Male

It is hard not to make a good case for Prime Male because it is so effective due to its large number of proven and distinctly well regarded ingredient profile.

Prime Male has been proven to help increase natural testosterone levels and is backed by some great figures from the world of sport and film.

Developed with the older man in mind, it is still useful for all ages, and women.

  • Contains twelve clinically proven ingredients to help stimulate testosterone
  • Contains anti-inflammatory ingredients to help prevent chronic disease
  • Helps control stress levels

CONS

  • The dose of D-Aspartic Acid would benefit from being higher

TestRX

Along with TestoFuel, TestRX contains some higher doses of the ever important yet often overlooked Vitamin D3 and D-Aspartic Acid.

TestRX has also been on the scene for a good number of years, this longevity is a reflection of the powerful ingredients included.

It’s only reason for a lower score is the lower number of ingredients included.

  • High doses of D3 and D-Aspartic Acid
  • Includes Fenugreek which stimulates test levels and cuts fat
  • Well established product standing the test of time

CONS

  • Fewer number of total ingredients included per dose
  • Omits a couple important ingredients such as Boron

TestoFuel

How can we not mention a number of rival natural testosterone boosters without including the No.1 TestoFuel?

TestoFuel has long been the highest rated test booster due to the collection of proven ingredients with the correct dosage to have the best effects.

This is has been my first choice for over three years now and I couldn’t feel better without it.
